I am a big fan of the cheeseburger at Houstons. Its an upscale chain. The burger will run you about $14. Not too bad. Fries are amazing!

I agree. What a waste of toro.

They should have filled the burger with toro the way this restaurant fills their burger with short ribs and foie gras:

Portions of the post that previously appeared in this space has been deleted. I would provide you with a reason why, but doing so would likely be against the TOS.

Sometimes getting a great burger can be worth almost anything.

Last summer I was on vacation at Cap Estel in the south of France. Beautiful place. The pool grill served a lot of fish and meat but did not have any burgers on the menu. After inquiring we were told it was no problem to get burgers for the next day lunch as a special request.

Next day had fantastic chesse burgers with fries. It really was one of the best burgers I ever had.

Cost - 32 Euros. Approx $43

Expensive, yes but sitting on the patio looking out over the Mediterranean drinking some good wine and eating a special order chesseburger....priceless.

I dunno. I can think of a lotta other wonderful Med foods I would prefer to eat other than a "chesseburger" and they cost far less than 32 euros.

Definitely. But for some reason after a week of fantastic fish and other assorted salads and meats I had a very intense craving for a cheeseburger. And even though the cost was high the quality lived up to the price.

I can well imagine. An American request. A French Restaurant. I'll bet that burger was particularly moist and juicy.

Be sure to try an emu, kangaroo or crocodile burger at The Summit in Sydney, if your main interest is the views and a relaxing drink.

In a scenic restaurant, overlooking the city, with a drink, I'd pay $35 for the burger, considering the cost per head would be triple that, omce drinks are considered.

It would be for the novelty and for the atmosphere of the place, not for the burger.

Thats a good one but I am probably in the minority of Americans who absolutely love France and the French people. I travel to France 2-4 times a year and have not encountered the so called French "rudeness" that everyone loves to go on about. It helps to be a New Yorker too since I am basically immune to rudeness in general. You learn to get used to it.

As for the Cheeseburger...I would expect a great burger that was a special request considering I was paying $900 a night for my room.
