Increase your budget to 30-35 bucks. You should be able to buy Ketel One, Stoli or Grey Goose. Tito's which is smoother, will be a couple of bucks less.

Whatever you do...don't go for the bargain basement $10-$15 bottles. Guaranteed wicked hangover for you and/or guests the next morning. Plus, they will be wondering who bought this cheap ****.;)

Costco house brand Kirkland Signature vodka is made by the folks at Grey Goose and half the price of Grey Goose.

Else, I like Ketel One or Tito's. But I'm not much of a vodka drinker. My Russian friends tend to drink Stoli.

Are you sure on Costco and GG? I am all over it if that's true.
Then I can just pour the Kirkland into an empty GG bottle for looks. :p

Premium vodkas are substantially over-priced, considering that other than filtration (amount, type and duration) and water source, there's little difference in preparation.

I guess i'm not sure what = premium but for this non-drinker there is noticeable difference in something like kettle one vs smirnoff in a mixed drink.

Wouldn't surprise me. One of the champagne companies does the Kirkland champagne.

Cheers.

Definitely a difference btwn non-premium & premium if you're drinking it straight.

Cheers.

I'm in VA and all liquor is sold in state owned ABC stores (no not the ABC stores that litter HNL LOL)

I don't have a problem going to the $30-35 range but if I can get something reasonable for $25 thats what I'll get

I'll check out TMs and CSU's MONOPOLOVA for sure;

Did anyone figure out for sure if the Kirkland was made by Grey Goose?

I think I'll look at Ketel One as well

at least this thread has given me a great starting point

thanks I knew I could count on the Omni drinkers to get me started ^

I am a vodka drinker (& tequila and wine and oops -wrong thread ) and I would not use premium in a screwdriver, bloody mary or even a cosmopolitan. I think Smirnoff is perfectly acceptable in a mixed drink. GG is for martini or splash of lime & rocks.
I still don't know what the OP's end use is.

Tito's should be available for well under $25, and my wife swears by it.

I usually do cranberry and Smirnoff isn't acceptable to me once I had something better :)

I'd guess that a few drinks in you could go to whatever but in my 1 drink sitting I can notice the difference.

stoli elit seemed pretty great originally, but then seemed to become average

After a quick look through the state board site, I did not see Monopolova available, so I'll recommend Russian Standard or in a real bind, Svedka.

This seems to be the one type of alcohol where the packaging really influences the price more than any of the other types of liquor. I know it happens but Vodka is really obnoxious about it.

So to rephrase, whats the best value for a 750 say $25 or less?

Sobieski.

Skol!!! LMAO ;) Most of my bar patons like the Goose but I can't afford it. I actually like Smirnoff for my income level.
