I'm headed there for the 1st time.
Staying at the Four Seasons for 5 days.
Anyone have suggestions for some great restaurants?

As much as I liked M on the Bund two years ago, even then it was getting mixed reviews. the view is a fantastic one though, so maybee get a drink there? I've only spent limited time in SH but a bite at the Italian restaurant in the Hyatt Pudong (56th floor?) mixed fresh ingredients and quality food with a fantastic view of the city (despite the smog). Apparently the view at the Cloud 9 bar (80 something floor) is even better.

I'm waiting on Moondog to give you some tips as he's spend some significant time in SH.

I'd second the recommendation for drinks @M on the Bund, sipping a drink out on the balcony is nice. Skip Cloud 9. I recommend one of those mega buffets around town, it's got great variety of dim sum.

Shanghai Restaurants

Three on the Bund has several nice restaurants, including Laris:

I also liked the South Beauty on the top floor of the Super Brand Mall - it's in Pudong, near the Pearl, and has a great view of the Hangpu and the Bund.

I hope the OP has a breakfast included rate at the FS. A recent experience was very satisfying regarding both the Western and the Chinese breakfast. Quality instead of vast quantity in the buffet selection.

Another FS strong point is the dim sum lunch/brunch on Sundays in the first floor Chinese restaurant. Very nice presentation and taste through the whole meal set.

For other recs, moondog is probably the residential expert, I can of course also ask some friends for any particular dining request.
