So somewhat back on topic, anyone have any ideas for good fish and chips in the SF Bay Area?

For Hilton folks, the fish-and-chips at the LA Hilton Checkers is well worth it.

King's head british pub - st. Augustine, florida!
Hands down the best.
And I used to live in Europe. Been to GB about 200 times. Believe me, this joint is authentic. Run by a 72 year old British bird, she demands quality from her kitchen. She only serves authentic food. GREAT Scotch (notice I did not say Scottish) Eggs, and Beer by the Pint or Yard. The Fish and Chips? Best I have had in the US by a long damn way. If you are ever in St. Augustine, this place is super. Closed on Monday and Tuesday. Open for Lunch/Dinner Wednesday through Sunday. about 1 mile north of the St. Augustine Airport on US 1 - that puts it about 7 or 8 miles north of St. Augustine proper. King's Head British Pub. Best damn fish and chips I have had in the new country. :p Worth the trip. |

While I'm somewhat partial (my husband owns the restaurant), O'Terrill's Pub in Atlanta (downtown near the Civic Center) truly has fantastic fish and chips.

Eamonn's in Old Town Alexandria, VA. Small shop, maybe 15-20 seats, but delicious fish and chips and Guinness served at the proper temperature.

The Frying Scotsman in Portland, Ore

Rehoboth Beach, Delaware
When in Rehoboth Beach, be sure to stop in and check out go fish at 24 Rehoboth Ave, it's a charming British inspired figs & chips shop & seafood restaurant just steps from the boardwalk. The best authentic British fish & chips, mushy peas, sticky toffee pudding! Tell em Jeffrey sent ya!

Brit's Pub Minneapolis
Would recommend Brit's Pub in downtown Minneapolis for good quality and value fish and chips (and other British classics ;) )- it also has a large lawn bowls green on the roof and loads of other British touches

The best Fish and Chips I've ever had was from a shack in Seward, AK. It was years ago, but I went twice (about a year apart) and both times it was great. Salmon, Halibut, and another white fish (maybe a codlike thing) - yumyum. I have no idea if they are still around.
Terry's? I didn't eat there, but I parked in the pay parking lot behind it when I went on a glacier tour earlier this summer. The glacier tour included dinner. http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6070/...dbbea7f9_z.jpg |
