Mmm--heavenly...
1. French Custard Toast with blueberries, bananas, and roasted hazelnuts from the Cadillac Cafe in Portland, OR
2. Quattro Stagione or Regina Margherita pizza from Tutta Bella in Seattle, WA 3. Gorgonzola and Pear Ravioli from Pogacha (locations in Bellevue and Issaquah, WA) 4. Turkey roll hero with Swiss, lettuce, Russian, and onions (plus salt and pepper) from the now-closed Mama Joy's deli near Columbia University in New York 5. Any good New York cheesecake 6. I'm told truffles are sublime, so I'll make a truffles-included dish my #6 |
1. Sea urchin, raw or grilled over fire.
2. Fatty tuna with fresh wasabi. 3. Kumamoto Oyster - all I can eat. 4. Fried chicken, authentic southern kind. Not greasy. 5. HK wonton noodle, with real big shrimp and very little fat / pork stuffing. Along with yellow chives bits over the soup and shrimp eggs sprinkle over. I have to add "Hong Kong" because that's the only place you can find truely great, small sized, fresh won ton. Most people never have a chance to eat what I described above. 6. Shanghai crab soup dumplings. All paired with appropriate wine/ beer / liquor. Hey, it's heaven, I expect only the best. And you can tell I didn't grow up in this country. :) |
1. Some kind of salad, that has to include avocado and garlic
2. Soup, either Flaedle or Braetnockerl 3. Spaghetti or penne with prawns 4. Zwiebelrostbraten 5. applepie 6. Creme caramel The good thing is everything but the Zwiebelrostbraten can be made by my mother or myself, so I don't have to go to heaven, the advantage of heaven is tough, you don't have to wash the dishes or stand in the kitchen for hours, and you can drink all that high priced stuff you won't get at home.:) |
I realise my tastes must be much be must simpler (or less informed?) than many of the posters, but I did get hungry reading this thread...and had trouble making up my mind when I saw all the great foods / meals mentioned...but having been dieting carefully for nearly six months, my list would include:
1) a sky-high corned beef reuben with extra thousand island (or russian) dressing and a side of fries 2) an egg bagel (not too soft, not too hard) with cream cheese and lox 3) a combo platter of tacos and enchiladas with rice and beans on the side accompanied by a bowl of salty, fresh tortilla chips and a chunky, not-too-spicy fresh salsa 4) fresh parmesean-reggiano cheese from Italy 5) chocolate chip meringue cookies and naturally, each one would have to be accompanied by the appropriate beverage...or a hearty Australian shiraz. Although, it was tough leaving out the Lucky Charms! |

Nor will you see a Mickey Dees Golden arches Except for their sausage biscuits. Any maybe a batch of their just-from-the-fryer fries. |
1. A chip butty.
2. My mum's Shepherd's Pie. 3. My wife's spag bog (to be honest,it's the only thing she can cook and it's usually rubbish but when I see that in front of me I know she's in the mood for a trip to Headboard Heaven so it has to go on the list. 4. Spotted dick. 5. Hummus, avocado and bacon with peanut butter and Vegemite in a toasted pitta bread...hangover food. 6. Murphy's Irish Stout ( that's what normally creates the need for number 5 ) |
1 - Sweet potato fries
2 - Yankee Doodles 3 - A grilled burger 4 - Portuguese roll 5 - Fresh white sweet corn on the cob 6 - key lime pie |
Aha, finally someone who appreciates ambrosia in the form of Key Lime Pie!
My 6: 1. Marinated chicken caesar salad from Maui Teriyaki 2. Sushi. All of it. Especially eel and white tuna, but I can be tempted by others. 3. Rare prime rib from Steak & Pasta Works - with au jus and lots of pepper on the outside 4. Yeast rolls from Roadhouse grill - with honey butter. 5. Garlic bread thick with garlic and butter, and thick chunky marinara to dip it in. Don't bother with the pasta. 6. My husband's creation - breast of chicken over a large sea scallop, wrapped in bacon and baked over a bed of asparagus. Mmmmm... And now for my desserts: 1. Key lime pie - tart and yellow, none of that sweet fake green stuff. 2. Chocolate volcano from Don Pablos - a thick cinnamon chocolate cake with a scoop of cinnamon ice cream, drowning in thick butter hot fudge sauce. Ohhhh heaven! 3. Bread pudding made by grandma, with thick butter sauce 4. Sticky toffee pudding made at the Rat and Parrot in Chiswick, UK - complete with hot butter rum sauce and sultanas. 5. Dark chocolate. Any way imaginable. 6. Truffle cheesecake, creamy and fluffy. |
