This one has me thinking......
1) Fried Chicken the way my mom used to make it. Cooked in an old, dented cast iron skillet. Crispy on the outside, moist on the inside, seasoned perfectly. 2) Boiled lobster with perfectly drawn butter. Delicious. 3) The duck dish from the Union Square Cafe in NYC. I bought the cookbook, attempted to make it at home 2x. It still doesn't taste the same. 4) A well made paella. Loaded with shrimp, mussels, fish... 5) A bowl of codfish bacala. Loaded with okra, tomatos, salt cod, onions...mmm 6) A perfectly broiled NY Strip Steak. Medium rare. Seasoned just right. No need for sauce...juicy perfection. Wow, am I hungry now ! The turkey tomorrow has no chance ! |
Chili Cheese Dogs from James Coney Island in Houston, and the A-1 Thick and Hearty Whataburger from Whataburger. Both, along with pork beacon, are proof of the allmighty.

1. Foie gras (such as at Aqua (no longer in existence in this form) in Las Vegas*)
2. Sweetbreads** (such as at Jocko's in Nipomo, CA -- crispy, naked, BBQ'd over oak -- or at Vidalia in Washington, DC -- fried in bacon fat) 3. Souffle** (such as at Olives in Washington, Las Vegas*, or elsewhere -- vanilla) 4. French bread from San Francisco (such as Boudin or many others) 5. Kobe beef carpaccio (such as at Petrossian in Las Vegas*) 6. Rib-eye steak, beans, papitas, and cheese enchilada plate with red chile and sopaipillas at Sadie's in Albuquerque, NM*** Notes: * Notice that this is three mentions for Bellagio, appropriate since it's heaven in the U.S. ** Two items that I virtually always order if they're on the menu. *** I know, this is not one food, but rather a whole meal -- but must be mentioned anyway. |
In my version of Heaven, Paul Bocuse and Joel Robuchon will alternate cooking dinner while Gaston Lenotre and Jacques Torres will do the dessert.
Since I will already be dead, I will not be concerned with fat, cholesterol and sugar. :D |
1. Grilled cheese sandwiches with french fries (simple, yes, but a classic!)
2. Malai Kofta with Garlic Naan (assuming that bad breath won't be a problem in heaven?) 3. Thai red curry with vegetables and tofu and basmati rice 4. Pepperidge Farms Goldfish crackers - Flavor-bursted Cheddar variety -- if you haven't had these you are missing OUT!!!! 5. Perfectly ripe seedless watermelon -- finding a good one is always so hit or miss without divine powers :) 6. Brownie ice-cream sundaes (complete with whipped cream, sprinkles, and a cherry) mmm... I'm hungry now!! |
Deep fried prime rib roast.......

No one has mentioned angel-food cake. Or divinity.

That's all you need really, because you won't have to worry about cholesterol and there's supposed to be loads of totty in heaven so when are you going to get the chance to eat? |
