Quite a few different expressions within those distilleries, but on average I'd rather go Talisker as I'm not sure I like the particular peatiness you get in the Coal Ilas I've had.

Not so much a recommendation but a question. I'm heading to China in about a month, any Chinese Whisky that's worth keeping an eye out for?

I'd guess Lagavulin 16 and Ardbeg.

But look for a good Bai Jeu (white wine by literal translation). Fine rice wine! |

I dunno about the mainland, but Taiwain did just have one of theirs named the top in the world. The Kavalan Solist Vinho Barrique, from King Car distillery, to be exact, though there are several other offerings out there from King Car.
I'll have to see if they have any Kavalan at a price point worth buying

Na, no Chines Whiskey is worth pursuing at this time.

Yeah I saw that and I was fortunate to try the Kavalan Solist Sherry Cask in the LH F lounge in MUC last year :D

Talisker is to share when your friends present are not strong fans of Islay peat. For those who are then the Coal Ila comes out. Real friends get the Islay L16 and ABs

I agree Talisker is a lot less peaty.... unless you go for the Talisker Storm where they've certainly ramped it up.
