I ended up going to the Cheeseburger in Paradise in Vegas sometime ago. I guess I only thought about the dining experience with this thread becuase it mostly underwhelmed me.
I won't do the burger. In and Out spoiled me on almost all burgers except those on friend's BBQ's.
The Clipper Wings were ok... the sauce not that spicy at 12 (the best wings of course are in Buffalo at Anchor Bar.... can't wait to get there again!)
The Gumbo tasted cold and lacked sausage bits. I sent it back for a warmer bowl. The service was fine.
The best margaritas I've had have been homemade. A good close second for a CHAIN is Chevy's pineapple coconut (limited time drink offer.) I would love to have them again. Funny, I'll be going to Chevy's right before Jimmy's concert at MSG on September 14th!
Folks are right on Buffett's margarita's - they are a little watered down (at least in Vegas.)
We have one in Secaucus, NJ so I may have to give this place a second chance.
Ok, please allow me to go off topic on Mr. Buffett and his music.
This Parrothead does not think his music blanks (will not write that word, sorry you feel that way Sweet Willie.) He's not a classical artisit or U2 or Springsteen or NOrah Jones or other "award winning, talented" artists. Buffett is fun, his music is light and his shows are entertainment, escapism. He has started to get some music award recognition in recent years (Grammy/CMA nominations for "IT's Five a Clock somewhere" with Alan Jackson - ok it's a duet) Perhaps in a few years he'll make the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (should be eligible - think it's 25 years of continuous performing to be a contender.)
Maybe someday Jimmy will get his Grammy, even if it's an honorary one.
In this all too serious world sometimes we need something light. Buffett fits the bill.
My Parrothat and Aloha shirt are ready for my annual Buffett night Sept 14.
Can't wait!
