For this one I would have to say Diet Coke

I agree with both, but I drink more water than either.

Non-NonRev Jun 20, 2006 12:23 pm

I only drink the diet varities, so:

1. Diet Coke - best overall flavor; smooth

2. Diet Pepsi - Slightly 'sweeter', a little less smooth

Oddly, for caffiene-free diet versions, I slighty CF Diet Pepsi over CF Diet Coke

nako Jun 20, 2006 12:31 pm

For both categories, I vote Coke products. I'm especially particular to those incarnations of Coke still made with cane sugar (e.g. Kosher Coke or Coke from Mexico.)

ContinentalFan Jun 20, 2006 12:43 pm

kingalien Jun 20, 2006 6:40 pm

Diet coke please.

luxury Jun 20, 2006 7:40 pm

I only drink the diet variety but (Diet) Pepsi all the way!! I can drink Diet Coke if there is no Diet Pepsi.....

I do like Coke Zero however........

cordelli Jun 20, 2006 8:04 pm

Msot any variety of diet coke now that the lemon stuff is gone.

railroadtycoon Jun 20, 2006 8:28 pm

Royal Crown ;)

busybee Jun 20, 2006 8:38 pm

Classic Coke, preferably in a glass bottle.

777vacation Jun 20, 2006 8:54 pm

Pepsi all the way

But if yo umust mix it with alcohol its gotta be coke.. same with 7up and sprite. &up is great by itself but when you get alcohol involved it has to be sprite... Wierd? What does everyone else think?

UNITED959 Jun 20, 2006 9:00 pm

Preference is Coke, but really makes no difference to me.

I couldn't have said it better myself. Diet Pepsi #1. However, Coke Zero is very good as well. I have a large stock of both in my home. :)

DavidDTW Jun 20, 2006 9:20 pm

Diet Coke is the only way to go!

woodg Jun 21, 2006 2:06 am

Diet Coke only. And never Zero Coke.

Scott in LA Jun 21, 2006 3:55 am

Prefer Pepsi to Coke, _strongly_ prefer Diet Pepsi to Diet Coke, and prefer Wild Cherry Diet Pepsi most of all.

But actually drink Sprite Zero to cut down on the caffeine.

Yes, yes, yes...had it for the first time this week!
That is my preferred diet drink now!

shiner Jun 21, 2006 8:30 am

Diet Pepsi for me and Diet Coke for my wife... Call it a mixed marriage.

Does anyone know where I can get Coke made with sugar? They used to sell it in some stores, but I haven't seen it in a few years.

Agree, Coke with alcohol, but I like 7UP over Sprite when mixing.

CrazyOne Jun 21, 2006 9:23 am

Strongly prefer Diet Pepsi to Diet Coke, both caffeine free and not. I can drink Diet Coke, as I make myself do it at times when I want a cola and all they have is Coke, but I don't much enjoy it.

entropy Jun 21, 2006 10:43 am

diet coke, preferably in a glass bottle.
(and least preferably in plastic)

redbeard911 Jun 21, 2006 10:52 am

I've cut my soda consumption 90%, but when I do partake, it's Diet Coke.

USCGamecock Jun 21, 2006 10:55 am

Only Diet Coke or, when abroad, Coca-Cola Light!

ILuvParis Jun 21, 2006 10:55 am

Diet Coke is the nectar of the gods. Nothing better than an icey cold can. However, if it is more than a month or so beyond the date stamped on the bottom of the can, it can be REALLY bad. I have dumped entire cases down the drain.

Any of the Mexican border towns would have it. I think jfe says he gets his in Juarez.

As for my choice...neither...I haven't had a soft drink in over 3 years and glad to be rid of the habit.

I did try Diet Berry Vanilla Dr. Pepper when it first came out, but took one sip and poured it down the drain. God help you if ever try it. It was like drinking cough syrup.

If I'm drinking out of the can the Pepsi. Less fizzy.

If I am pouring it into a glass or it's out of a soda fountain then Coke. Better taste.

Diet Pepsi over Diet coke no matter how I drink it.

In areas with Hispanic populations, it's not uncommon to see it in grocery stores targeted to these populations. Virtually every Hispanic grocery store in this area carries either Coke or Pepsi imported from Mexico, and some carry other drinks (Squirt, 7-Up, and Orange Crush, for example).

Otherwise, if you live in a large city with a significant Jewish population, Coke that is made with sugar (so it is kosher for Passover) is sold for a few weeks every year. It's not bottled by everyone, though, so it's not easy to come by unless you live in a place like New York or Los Angeles.

And, if you can get it, just about nothing on this continent will beat Dr Pepper from Dublin, Texas.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: if you can really tell the difference, you drink too much of it :). But keep drinking; PEP's been a decent investment (and much better than KO).

Really? I haven't tasted Pepsi or RC in years and I am certain that if you lined up cups of them with Coke, Diet Coke, Diet Pepsi and Diet Rite, I could easily ID each of them. That's how fine my palate is! :D

The Winger Jun 21, 2006 2:24 pm

Pepsi! I don't drink alot of pop, but if I do I prefer Pepsi.

I pretty much agree with this one...but I'd rate Coke Zero and Pepsi One (in that order) ahead of Diet Peps. Diet Coke has always struck me as having very little flavor other than the artificial sweetner. I also like Tab....if I can ever find it (and I'm not referring to the new "energy drink" version).

oklAAhoma Jun 22, 2006 9:47 pm

Pepsi only. I've cut back my soda intake tremendously but when I have to have a caffeine/sugar fix, only Pepsi will do.

Fliar Jun 22, 2006 9:57 pm

Pepsi is for losers ;)

Coke is the real thing

(although with the sugarfree stuff Pepsi wins hands down)

that's the artificial sweetener breaking down over time (Ace-K and Aspartame)... quite bitter after it loses its sweetening properties.

UNITED959 Jun 22, 2006 10:10 pm

Not to derail, but anybody try Fresca? It's put out by Coke. Good product, and much better for you.

I absolutely LOVE diet lemon coke. That's my favorite. I'm not sure if you can get it in the states any more. I've had the diet lime coke there but don't like it.

It depends when you bought KO! ;)
