Many people would say that the best of the Original chain is in Wilmette, Illinois, better known as Walker Brothers. This place has been in business since the '60s and consistently is #1 for pancakes and breakfasts in general in the Chicago area.

Certainly the biggest pancakes I've ever seen (bigger than the plate). If any celebs eat there often, they will soon be obese. Very good, but its being in the top 10 is pure hype. Don't like the French Press coffee.

I never order pancakes for breakfast, I always order an omelette or full English breakfast.... I'd have to say the potato pancakes I make are delicious but are best at dinnertime. My chocolate chip pancakes are yummy as well. Since I do not have a place to mention it is easy to say the best pancakes are NOT at IHOP... ick :td:

The original Original Pancake House is, I believe, the location in Anaheim, California. If I am not mistaken it was started by two retired lady school teachers and then franchised after their success.

The Anaheim location still is going strong. I have gone there for the past 35 years and love the Apple Pancake, which I split with my wife for great breakfast. I don't think one person could consume an entire pancake alone.

Just keep moving along, nothing to see here... :D

Yes. Nashville ministers whose sermons have run too long have been killed by angry mobs of churchgoers eager for Pancake Pantry.

It's been probably 8 years since I've been to Monterey, but there was an out-of-this-world breakfast/lunch restaurant a block or two up from the bay that had wonderful fruit and wheat germ pancakes...the "blueberry germ" were my favorite. Once upon a time it was called "First Watch," but they had changed their name and I can't remember what it's called now (if it still exists)--perhaps First Awakenings?. Does anyone know which place I'm talking about?
