Yes, I would stay in Roses next time - it's quite a haul back to BCN or S'Agaro, where we were staying.

I'm sure it takes them days to figure out all of the year's resvs. Give it at least a week, then I'd send back a friendly 'hoping to hear, this will be the highlight of out trip' email.

I asked if anyone on Chowhound.com had heard back yet & received this reply:

"It takes much longer than a week to get a positive response back (the "no" responses go out first). I wouldn't expect to hear anything affirmative before mid-November."

Good good, I'm hopeful for a positive response, El Bulli has been on my list of places to try for awhile. So I shot an email to them the other day and asked for a Saturday night (any Saturday night) in June or July and I'll head over to Barcelona for the weekend.

A poster on the Chowhound.com site just reported she got a 'Yes' reply back last week - any luck?

Emailed on the 14th October. To have a chance request needed to be with them 14/15/16. After that the reservations were closed. Still waiting to hear, but thinking positive. They are confirming reservations in April & May so far. I understand they work through the season in order so the later you ask for the later you will hear. Still time to get a yes.

Just an update. Got an email from El Bulli today offering a reservation on 30th July - Awesome. This is probably where they are booking up until as of today.
Very excited

I heard that this restaurant was features in an episode of No Reservations with Anthony Bourdain. Does anyone have a link to a torrent for this episode?

By the way, Japanese restaurants have been serving
fried fish skeletons for many years. Nothing new there.

It used not to be hard to get into El Bulli, and I've been there twice. I am so glad I had those experiences, but I will second this recommendation for Cal Pep. Sit at the counter for a really fun evening.

"El Bulli" means The Bulldog in Spanish.

El Bulli closing its doors!

Just saw the latest episode of No Reservations and it was behind the scenes and up close look at El Bulli and Ferran Adria..

El Bulli is closing its doors and the next project will be El Bulli Foundation where Ferran Adria's successes as well as mistakes will be shared with the world...
