Yes, and you can get them at crab houses as well as at seafood restaurants as I was pointing out in response to thegeneral's post.

Thumbs up Another vote for Costco crab cakes

Philips, another Baltimore seafood house, sells frozen crab cakes which are available at Costco, but the crab content has become skimpier in the last couple of years.
My wife just made (okay let's say heated) some of these crab cakes from Costco. I won't say they are all crab but there were definitely some chunks the size of my index finger tip. Better than any other store bought crab cakes I have had in the past. In a pinch they are an easy cheap meal with a bottle of wine on a Friday night after work. Enjoy.

I refuse to eat Phillip's crab cakes. They are a disgrace to Maryland. The crab meat comes from Thailand.

I haven't eaten any crab cakes lately.

But I do know the last one I had wasn't made from canned pasteurized crab harvested on the other side of the world.

best in baltimore?

best ive had are jerry's. edged out best in annapolis, although i forget the name of that place.

best chain restaurants = great american restaurants in northern VA. coastal flats is best, because its 1 crabcake, instead of usual 2. but arties and carlyle have weekend brunch with great "crabcakes benedict."

anyone tried redrock canyon grill?

That surprises me a great deal. I didn't think anyone but Phillip's was going out of the country for crab meat.

The only restaurants i am familiar with that serves MARYLAND crab cakes are the Black chain(black salt, etc). mccormic and schmick claim sea of cortez crab, and my beloved blue duck claim viet, la. i do not know if they mean la, or viet nam. every place else just serves delicious crab cakes with little or no filler.

I have been to G&M and Obryckis. I prefer Obryckis. I thought their crabcakes were more flavorful. plus they have the deviled crab cakes which are outstanding!!

Thumbs up Roswell, GA Aspens Restaurant

I was surprised the first time I ever ate their crabcakes. They were wonderful, mostly crab. On a night I don't know what I want, I find myself driving there and having their wonderful bread, crabcakes, chopped salad, and a pinot grigio. Yum!
