Bangkok restaurant option: Taling Pling

This home-style Thai restaurant has not been mentioned on Flyertalk before. It was recommended by a friend of a friend as a good local Thai restaurant, and the concierges at the Peninsula and the Oriental were both familiar with the restaurant and gave favorable comments. English is spoken by a few of the staff.

Anyway, if you want to try something other than the Blue Elephant or Celadon, here's the contact info:

Taling Pling
60 Pan Road
Silom
Phone 234-4872 or 236-4830

or

5th Floor
Central Plaza
Rama III
Phone 673-6369

The first location is within walking distance of the Oriental, Shangri La, or Peninsula. If walking along Silom away from the river, turn right onto the street after the Hindu Temple.

My taxi driver had a hard time finding it, either by mistake or design, but your concierge should be able to write directions. It should be about a 40-45 baht fare.

Cost is about $10 per person with drinks but not wine.

Thanks for the recommendation. I'll try it on my next visit!
