I thought the China House was simply great. Sala Rim Naam was a bit overwrought, but on average the quality of the food at the Oriental on my stays there has been exceptional. Not necessarily gastro, but very good.

The other memorable thing I had was the pomelo chicken salad in the Oriental's casual restaurant. It was amazing. What an explosion of flavor! I have to agree that the Oriental food quality is virtually always consistently good, although Sala Rim Naan would be their weak link. It was, however, better than I remembered, and the show was worthwhile. The other thing I don't particularly like is their breakfast buffet. A la carte is the way to go for breakfast in my opinion. The variety and quality of the food in the hotel is really wonderful, especially if you are just too tired to go out again after a long day.
