Better than Kobe?!!? Mashima beef

On Iron Chef last night, they had a Mishima beef contest.

Apparently raised on the island of Mishima, only 20 head of these cattle are available per year.

I've had some kobe dishes in Japan, the marbling was incredible, flavor devine. The marbling in this Mashima beef made the Kobe I've seen look like USDA canner/cutter quality.

Anyone try Mashima beef?

No...but I am jealous...it will be nice to get back home so I can have my Iron Chef back. I was just happy to at least see the Simpsons last night!

I don't know about anyone else, but this is the only non-dessert Iron Chef episode I've seen where I would have eaten every dish presented by both chefs.
