Frog Legs

Frog Legs
I was reading on some foods of New Orleans (which I posted in the South FT Dining Fourm). One of the foods mentioned were frog's legs.
I have not had them for years, but as a kid, I would almost always order them if they were on the menu. Delicious.
I have not seen them anywhere for quite awhile.
Anyone else a fan or have recent experiences w/Frog's legs?

I'm same as you Willie... they were a favorite food when I was a kid, but I rarely see them anymore.
Tastes like chicken...
And honestly, I seem to find that the meat UNDER the Extra Crispy coating of a KFC chicken leg tastes the exact same to me (has to be Extra Crispy, though...)

Interesting. Saw more than a few times in some of the smaller Prague restaurants we visited this summer. In the small town of Kromeritz (where Amadeus was filmed) they even served them in the local Italian "pizzeria".

Try a Vietnamese restaurant. I've seen them listed on the menu but not translated, presumably to avoid making English-speaking customers squeamish. If so, look for a menu item including the word ech, with a "hat" and a rising-tone mark over the "e".

My favourite place in Paris to enjoy frogs legs is at Chez Henri "Moulin a Vent" in the 5th, 20 Rue des Fosses-St. Bernard near the Jussieu metro station. Now thinking about them, can't wait to go back!!

The best Frog Legs and also Perch I've ever had were in Hammond, IN at Phil Schmidts. It is just over the boarder from IL.

Anyhow Frog Legs or cuisses de grenouille are very popular in Burgundy. We had a to-do at a restaurant out in the middle of nowhere on a pond that is famous for it. They taste great, but it's a bit difficult to eat around those tiny bones.
