Returned to Les Amis , Singapore , to celebrate CHRISTmas - 12 days & beyond , etcetera ..
.. like Three Kings Day , or Día de Los Reyes , a Christian holiday celebrated on January 6 , 12 days after CHRISTmas . The holiday commemorates the visit of the three Magi , or wise men , who brought gifts to the infant Jesus and also some Orthodox churches follow the older Julian calendar , which currently runs 13 days behind the civil Gregorian calendar , meaning December 25 falls on January 7 Having trouble posting photos of our meal , hence the discourse 👆🏻 and one below so far https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...53e34b68e.jpeg Our dessert part of menu , decisions , decisions , decisions .. |
Troisgros - Le Bois sans feuilles, Ouches, France :star::star::star:
Spent a week in the Roanne area and visited the legendary Troisgros. The original restaurant by the Roanne train station is now a more casual eatery, while the 3 Michelin-starred restaurant moved out to the country and also has a hotel. The dishes are now all modern fusion (but I read you can request Salmon and Sorrel ahead of time) and all the protein was seafood -- no meat dishes unless you count the sweetbreads.

Couple of quick data points:
Les Amis Singapore (3*) - nice but not overwhelming (94/100) Ritz London (unbelievably only 2*) - great experience (96-) Anne-Sophie Pic at le Normandie bangkok (2*) - superb 96 also went to Electric Sheep in Bangkok - think 'hippy joint'. Fun with quite good food but BYO as they only have Thai wine. Noble Rot London: fantastic selection of wines by the glass - 1903 Madeira or a 1980 d'Yquem anyone? Arva at Aman in Bangkok: surprisingly good Italian food. |

What must be the cheapest Michelin meal in the western hemisphere. Taste is a bit ordinary but I have had many a worst taco. The cut is the fillet(gaonera)
