wine/winery forum
Some of the discussion in Dining Buzz and OMNI and various city and airline forums has me thinking...
... do we have enough interest to have our own "wine/winery" forum in FT Dining.
I would think so based on the numerous threads I've seen on such topics scattered throughout various FT threads.
Anyone else agree?

I would just like to see a beverage forum in general where all sorts of our favorites could be discussed.

)I'll third the idea.

I support the idea of a general beverage forum.

Good idea. Us non-oenophiles need all the help we can get.

Techgirl, I agree, but why limit the forum to wine only. Why not consider a Beverage Forum. I'm partial to good wine but also enjoy different beers and fine liqueurs.

I am wholly in favor of this idea!! I'd even be happy to pitch in moderating. As a wine lover and home brewer, I would be in favor of a wine/beer/spirits or general beverage forum.

I agree totally with either idea.
It would also be fun to have a gathering with a primary focus on wine.

I am all for the idea too, especially if it's a general-beverage that includes wine, beer, and fine liqueurs. Political topics divide us, and hopefully drinking topics will united us.

Great idea!
And when the forum is introduced, someone needs to have a contest to get posting going..
With a prize that consists of one or more of the following bottles:
On the one hand, this forum might require moderating OMNI a whole lot more, moving the wine threads... on the other hand all of the wine activity in OMNI certainly speaks for creating a wine forum... and it might just provide FT Dining with a shot in the arm.

I had a question re. this week's Grange 2002 release, but decided to ask TB whether THIS idea of techgirl, supported by gleff and ozstamps, could be considered again, in light of debate on drinks threads on people who are trying not to have a drink.
Thank you techgirl and posters here, if you can advise on the benefits or otherwise of voting on moving drinks into a subforum or anywhere in particular. Here is the Talkboard proposal.

I would be more than happy to participate in such a forum. I have been interested in wine since 1983 and currently work in the wine trade. The producers that I represent include J.J. Prum from Germany and a negociant house from Bordeaux.

I have some questions about
- transportation of wines on JetStar SYD-HNL and on Aloha and Hawaiian, HNL-KOA / KOA-HNL-LIH / LIH-HNL;
- tastings of Grange (!)
- possible taster notes if the latter happens
...but first, I would like you to add feedback in THIS Talkboard proposal (sorry the former post link was faulty).
There are existing threads on Penfolds' Grange, but they are all over the place [link].
I think a travel and drinks area could thrive somewhere other than OMNI, if we get the support and can show the evidence.
As long as the discussion relates somewhat to travel or dining, diningbuzz could be a better place than the maligned forum, OMNI.
