I have stayed at the Singapore Shangri-La...loved it.
Anyway, room was great, nice view, amenities clean and really a lot of bang for my buck, comparatively speaking. And, the buffet had so much food there it wasn't possible to try it all, and I just wept at having found the roasted pork/roasted duck/soy sauce chicken station late that I literally couldn't feast on them. Goes without saying, I'll stay here again both for the hotel and for the buffet, and even their breakfast buffet was a comprehensive feast on its own. By the way, those pasta pics look simply fabulous! |

LATAM Salon VIP lettuce artichoke mushroom broccoli chicken salmon beef salad. It's what's for dinner. At least round 1. https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...2be687734a.jpg Round 2 |

Yeah, I wasn't expecting anything and only booked during my arrival to try the buffet YYZ had mentioned. I was quite taken aback with no resistance on my 8 am check in and the FD proactively asserting fees won't be assessed, because I've experienced enough of SE Asia to appreciate the term "Singaporean Style" when it comes to these things. LOL

I never had the buffet there but I agree that the hotel was absolutely lovely....I was there years ago & I am glad to hear that it is still so nice. |
Charcoal-grilled ribeye and bbq sauce marinated chicken, asparagus on the grill, strawberries, baked potato, homemade biscuits, milk -- and a homemade chocolate brownie for dessert.

Frozen roti prata (heated by myself) and some chicken curry (from a "nearby" Sri-lankan place...
Gotta try these with SEA curries, however not quite enthused at how much plastic is generated for these. |

Last night I made some chicken chili with whatever I had in the house. Let's see...
I still felt like it was missing something but I am never sure if that's the case or if I just don't have my sense of smell back from covid a couple months ago. It definitely needed to be spicier (didn't taste the jalapeno at all) but Mr Gfunk doesn't love spicy so I usually just add hot sauce to my plate. |
