Someone posted NBD on social media. Every day it's something national day. Who makes this stuff up?

I coincidentally bought ground beef on Friday [$4.99 / lb at Grocery Outlet] and was *this* close to using up my Doordash credits, but thought a simple burger would be easy enough. There is a piece of toasted croissant toast under the burger. Next time, I am also going to lay a slice of cheese between bread and patty to keep the bread from getting super soggy. How did you dress your chicken burger?

This looks so good! Haven't had these kinds of noodles in ages and will try to get some for lunch today.

Had no idea. By the way, I've always preferred my burgers and sandwiches open faced. Gald to see I'm not alone!

Trying to think of some exotic combo I like but others might not... can't think of anything at the moment.
Very later reply -- my mother grew up in Morocco going to a French school and her family had Spanish cooks. Her after school snack works be a butter and sugar sandwich or a baguette with chocolate. I know the chocolate baguette is French but not sure the origins of the butter and sugar sandwich.

I overdid it. Cheese, lettuce, roasted tomato, pickles, grilled onion, ketchup and mayo. Mine was on an onion bagel and I put lettuce down first and nothing got soggy.

Chocolate I can understand (likely a predecessor to Nutella or another hazelnut spread). But trying to figure out the history of butter and sugar... unless it was something like a milk bread in which case it might work out to be something like a cake...
