Gift ideas for a (hipster) foodie?
I have been trying to figure out wedding gift ideas for a couple who loves food and cooking. They love a Scandinavian aesthetic (I think “hipster” - even though I hate the word - describes them well). They are pescatarian. I don’t know all their favorite restaurants but Test Kitchen was mentioned.
Any beautiful, unique brands for kitchen appliances or tools? Or other foodie type gifts? Price range ~$1k max

Subscriptions for CSA box, spice of month, jerky/biltong, and other monthly food subscriptions. Liquor is always a joy.

How well do you know them? Do they own a house? Are they looking at buying a house? Where are they going on their honeymoon?
If they are buying a house or own a house, what about giving them $1k to upgrade the stove or kitchen in some manner?
If you know where they are going on their honeymoon and can ask about plans, you might want to consider a local cooking experience.
If you are really good friends with them and don't want to add to their honeymoon, you could give them a certificate for a few days away and a local cooking experience there, or a few nights in a local hotel and cooking sessions at a local cooking school or restaurant.

They don’t own a house, won’t be buying one soon. (They live in sub Saharan Africa and do development work. The house they live in is nice and modern, and there is almost no culinary scene in the city, only a few restaurants catering to expats.)
I was originally hoping to give something towards their honeymoon but that fell through, hence scrambling for new ideas.

Thanks for the ideas, unfortunately given where they live, it’s super difficult for them to accept packages. (They live in a developing country in Africa.)
They do like wine, preferably reds. Any that you recommend?

I don’t even know where one lives when somebody says Sub-Saharan Africa.
Subscription for South African wineries??? I’m sure that there are so many subscription programs for all the different vineyards.

Anybody interested in cooking needs good knives, which can be unaffordable for newlyweds. Depending upon budget and inclination, there are two ways to go: one is to buy a complete mid-range but good set (Henkel or Sabatier or similar). The other is to buy just two really good knives out of a top range set, and add to them over the years but these can be many hundreds per knife. The point with these, and why they are ideal for a wedding gift, is that you use and enjoy them everyday and they last your entire life.

Definitely +1 to Georg Jensen. Here are some other designers I can recommend for great homewares, kitchen tools, etc:
-HAY

-Fiskars
-iittala (although best known for their glassware, they also make fantastic kitchen tools, pots and cutlery. I have a lot of their glassware and a full set of cutlery which I love, and I have my eye on this iconic pot).

-Sagaform
-Skeppshult
-Stelton (and their other line, Rig-Tig by Stelton)
