Beer app for iPhone?
For years I have been using BrewGene as my craft beer rating library and search engine. It is a library of basically every beer in the universe (with characteristics of each brew as well as crowdsourced ratings), which you can search and then attach your own ratings for future reference. I find it invaluable for (a) figuring out which beers I might like from an unfamiliar list, and (b) serving as my memory when the question is "have I had this beer before, and did I like it?"
Sadly, whoever developed this app doesn't seem to be updating it anymore for new versions of iOS. It still exists, but presumably in a few months it will not work anymore. Does anyone have a suggestion for a replacement? The App Store is next to useless as far as trying to find something similar.

Thanks, just looked that one up on the App Store. Unfortunately the reviews of the newly released version are pretty scathing. And there are just a handful of other similar apps, all with very few reviews. I'm a bit stunned that there are seemingly so few widely used apps for beer ratings--surely this is a huge market? I'm sad that the one I use is no longer supported...it's pretty much exactly what I need.

Another vote for Untappd. I find it quite useful if you are looking to know what beers are available in a venue as you can see people checking in the beers within the past few hours/days. Usage in Europe isn't anywhere near as high as the US however but it still nearly always has any beer I have searched for. Adding one in isn't too much hassle either.
