Alright, that does it. I'm hopping on a plane to SYD today so I can see what all the fuss is about.

What unrefined palates!

I prefer carrotroot or turniproot.

This from an Irishman ? ;)

Mmmmmmmm... Beetroot.

It's not a real burger unless there's pickled beetroot in it. Yum.

Related to names changing in different aussie states, potato scallops are another great example!

At least they don't have haggis.

After a lifetime of hearing about how nasty haggis is I've never had any inclination to try it. Got it on a tasting menu the other day for the first time in my life and thought to myself, not bad

Yeah, I've had it, too. Agree, not bad.

I think it's one of those things the English used to ridicule their neighbors.

I tried it in a restaurant in Tennessee and I wasn't too impressed. However, you could clearly see that it had come from a can. Can anyone tell me if fresh haggis is way better?

No, more like Oscar Meyer baloney. SPAM is very different. Trust me, I'm Korean (and I'm pretty sure Koreans and Hawaiians account for at least 80% of all SPAM consumption in the world, lol).

I like beets, so I think I wouldn't mind beets on a sandwich.

Growing up, I didn't like beets, but I got served beets so often when living in Chile, I came to like them, especially dressed with salt and olive oil. I still like them that way, and on buttered bread, as others have mentioned.

Scottish friends made it for a Burns' Night party. It was reasonably tasty, though I suspect they may not have included the most awful offal.

My friends recitation of the Address to a Haggis was thoroughly unintelligible. As 'twas meant to be, I suspect.

Because of his Scottish or was it the Scotch?

It doesn't take more than a few drams to make me unintelligible.

Nah, not like Spam. I don't know what the equivalent in the UK would be. Wiki says it would be called luncheon meat.

Not on, but in, sure.
