Talking Do any FTers want to help with my homework?

I'm taking a University course on Globalisation, and I've decided that I want my final project to be on McDonald's. I want to talk about how it's different from country-to-country.

That's where FT comes in. I was hoping that any FTers who are traveling/live outside of the US would be willing to stop by a McDonald's to buy something that's unique (e.g. the McAloo Tikki in India), or just buy something they like to eat back in the US (e.g. a Big Mac) and take a photo of it and send it to me.

Of course, the big question is why I can't Google these images myself. I can, but I also want to discuss the Internet's role in enabling the exchange of ideas and allowing me to make requests like this. I'd really appreciate all the help I could get

A major American University in a major east-coast city. That narrows it down plenty . If you're still curious, PM me

I'll take a guess... American University?

Do you need current pics? I might have some from the past couple of years, most notably visiting McD's in Saigon, Tokyo, and Budapest.

Ha! I'd forgotten all about that university till now. The photos don't have to be current; I'd really appreciate it if you were able to dig up those photos

This one discussion with photographs — complete with a link located in the signature of one particular member of FlyerTalk to a comprehensive weblog which has plenty of photographs — should be all you need and more than suffice as a source for your project, pewpew.

Good luck to you.

Thought of you when I read http://attractionsmagazine.com/world...lding-contest/

BTW have you read the book "The McDonaldization of Society"? An interesting read, and possible good source depending on the course syllabus.

I have a lot of McD photos from travels (one place I know I can count on what is in at least some of the products -- allergen wise not necessarily fine-dining-wise). I don't know, however, how to send photos without departing from the sanctity of FT anonymity. If you know the secret to that, I would be happy to take a look for some.

Thanks, Canarsie. I had noted that thread but initially felt that it would clash with the first goal of my project (to talk about how globalisation/the internet allows me to ask people around the world for this), but, after some more thought, it works just as well.

Check your PMs

I'd also like to thank the other FTers who've PMed me/replied telling me that they'll send me the images when they return from their latest trip. You guys are the best

I visited a McDonald's in Juneau, AK where they sold the "McKinley Mac", but you only want non-USA locations, right?

I think pewpew's academic term is over. We can continue to talk about McD though.

It is. My professor liked my presentation quite a bit and suggested I make a YouTube video / article in Salon out of it. But I still haven't gotten my final grade -- so I'll tentatively thank everyone for their help
