Do You Eat the Skin?

Skin I eat:

Potato

Skin I don't eat:

Everything else.

How about you?

Tomato. Apple. Peach. Pear. Grape. Basically all non-citrus fruits.

Sausage skin, unless too tough. Chicharrones.

No skin off my nose.;)

Yes.

crunchy filipino lechon and the crackling atop a german roast pork being two of my favorites.

Do You Eat the Skin?

When younger I would usually eat the skin on chicken if it was crunchy or on fried chicken. But, have taken it off for the last 20+ years since it is not so healthy.

True but but the skin has all the flavor. Might as well eat tofu. Everything in moderation.

Fried chicken skin and pork crackling are great condiments to porridge. A lot of flavour to something bland!

I generally eat skin. Salmon skin is great if seared enough to give it some crunch!

I love any skin but it must be crisp. Soggy chicken skin is disgusting.

Okay, some of those are just to tough too remove, although as a toddler I'm told I insisted my father remove skin from grapes before I would eat them. Come to think of it, if someone would do that for me sixty years later, I wouldn't turn it down.

Some of the skins I won't eat:

sweet potato, cucumber, apple, chicken, eggplant, turnip.

Some of the skins nobody eats (correct me if I'm wrong):

banana (although I did try smoking it in the 60's - thank you Donavan), winter squash.

+1

I love crispy roast pork skin, crispy salmon skin. Roast chicken/turkey/duck doesn't need to be crispy, but I'll take it as long as it's not too soggy. The skin is where all the flavors and seasonings are cooked in.

I'm getting a hankerin' for Peking Duck...:p

Salmon skin sushi rolls FTW

;)

Popeye's Chicken and McDonalds Chicken Nuggets --- remove the skin/crispy off both, make separate pile, admire pile, eat pile, throw away the rest away.

Which pile?

The "nuggets" are composed of a large percentage of chicken skin, while the breading on nuggets is just breading....
