Nduja - spreadable salami OMG !
This past Friday night, Mrs Sweet Willie & I were introduced to Nduja Salami, which is a soft, spreadable salami with a heck of kick of spice. Spread on the crusty bread that the restaurant serves, we were in heaven.
The meat actually is cured by the amount of Calabrian chili pepper.
The restaurant where we had this item was Ristorante Agostino located in western Chicago: www.agostinogustofino.com
Chef Agostino was very pleased we had ordered it and came out to our table to talk about nduja. He is about to complete a deal with a local producer which will allow nduja to be sold in grocery markets. I can't wait as that will be a regular staple in our house.
We actually just scrambled some eggs & leftover nduja for our breakfast this morning. Molto buono!!
