Our favorite restaurant in our last hometown closed after we moved. Angelo's was the only restaurant in Baneberry, TN. In a town of under 400, it's great to have a place that we could walk home from. But, many a Thursday night we would be the only customers. They did something to piss off almost everyone else that lived in town and had to survive off the business of outsiders. Not a problem in summer when the golf course is open. Big problem all through the winter. I would be mourning the loss if we had stayed.

This last year, my absolute favorite restaurant in the world closed. I was shocked. I loved "Bistro 110" in Chicago's Water Tower area. I went there every chance I could, and especially for Brunch on Sunday. This French Bistro was outstanding. I had never seen any restaurant pair fresh French bread with roasted Garlic and home made Raspberry preserves before. Incredible. And their rotisserie Chicken with fresh roasted veggies (including Parsnip) was the best ever.
They closed without warning, and recently re-opened as "An Italian" Restaurant. Go figure. An Italian restaurant in Chicago. How unique.

So I'm in mourning.

Does anyone else have a restaurant they "Mourn" for?

Bistro 110 was pretty good, but have you tried Bar Toma? It actually is pretty unique. Can't wait for Chef Mantuano's River Roast this summer(in the former Fulton's space).
