I had occasion to try a few versions of Teeling whisky (don’t remember which ones but some of the special bottlings) and really like them.

I was at the bar at the new Kimpton Paris and spotted a bottle of Yellow Spot. I think it was 25 Euros per serving and a I had a 10 euro coupon for the bar so I went for it. The bartender poured a healthy neat glass and it was very, very nice.

Redbreast 21 and 27… worth the price of admission? Does 27 stand up for its 2x price tag against the 21?

However my beverage of choice these days is Jameson Black Barrel. Really smooth and reasonably priced for what it is. I started drinking it neat but now I have it in a rocks glass with just a few ice cubes.

Tully Dew is a good backup IME.

I'm not a huge Jemeson Black fan at 80 proof, though I'll caveat that with the fact I really enjoy the cask proof Jameson Black (think my bottle is 120.4 proof). The challenge is in getting it; IIRC, you can buy it at the gift shop at the Dublin distillery and that's about it.

The 100 proof version is hard enough to come by and just isn't quite the same, not quite as rich and unctuous.

I found a good review for TEELING (Pot Still) so bought it and liked it. Better than Jameson's IMHO.

Lost Irish is a newcomer but it's the best Irish whiskey I've ever tasted. It's conditioned in barrels from 6 continents (South African brandy casks, Japanese mizunara oak, Sherry casks, Bourbon casks, Caribbean rum casks, Australian tawny casks, and Colombian rum casks) and uses 3 different styles of Irish whiskey (grain, malt, and pot still). It sounds like an absolute mess of a spirit and all the flavors should clash but instead of it being muddy it has a depth of complexity and you can pick out every cask utilized. Perhaps sacrilege but I prefer it to Green or Red Spot.
