Not the Burj Khalifa, but Winnipeg's highest restaurant is set to reopen soon after being closed the past few years. Prairie 360 occupies the 30th and 31st floors of Fort Garry Place, and it is opening its doors next month. It is a revolving restaurant at the top of a 308 ft. building.

In New York at the moment, so a few additions from the last week:
230 5th - A nice rooftop bar right in the middle of things http://www.230-fifth.com/ Gaonnurai - Marketed as the highest up authentic Korean cuisine in the world, it's actually quite nice and has good views from the 39th floor. Both a restaurant and a bar http://www.gaonnurinyc.com/ I also noticed that the Press Lounge was down as being in the "Kimpton" which is the chain. The hotel is actually Ink 48. It's my new favourite NYC rooftop bar. Stunning views of Manhattan on one side and the Hudson on the other http://www.ink48.com/new-york-dining/press-lounge.html |

That seems interesting. :) |
Some additions for Vegas:
Alize (56th floor, Palms Tower) - Michelin starred restaurant Nove Italiano (51st floor, Palms Fantasy Tower) - below The View (lounge, formerly Playboy Club) and Moon nightclub |
We've eaten at the rotating restaurants in Calgary (Panorama Restaurant IIRC) and CN Tower (360 Restaurant) in Toronto.
Great views in Toronto as planes seem to fly below the CN viewing areas at times. A bit surreal to see. There was a prefixe menu that's a pretty good deal at CN, and the admission up the elevator was included in the price of a meal if dining at the restaurant, whereas charged for all other visitors. I highly recommend going all the way up to Skypod. Being up that high you're literally hanging on for dear life (at least from my point of view). The Skypod price was in addition to the free admission of the meal at 360 restaurant, but it was a nominal price. |
Yes CN tower dining id a good bargain when you factor in the cost of the ride and not having to wait in line. The food is passable for a landmark.
^^^ watching the planes landing at YTZ under you is an experience for FTers. |

I like the Sunday Brunch at the Calgary Tower, so we'll probably go back soon. I was going to do the tower at Niagara falls.. IIRC there was a buffet and it seemed like a super deal with great views.. but we hit up a buffet across the street from the falls. We bought the meal at a discount at a ticket centre and walked across to eat after we finished off a few activities off of the Niagara Falls pass. |
Victoria: Vista 18: Chateau Victoria, 18th Floor [FT]
Found a new one. 18th Floor in Victoria. The food was alright, but a little expensive for what it is (as usual). Views were decent, but at one time they must have been much better (a new building went up right in front of it towards the harbor). https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-W...o/IMG_9793.JPG https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-v...o/IMG_9796.JPG https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-u...o/IMG_9792.JPG |

With some (very small) level of sadness, I must report that Encounters at LAX is dead. Glad I got to visit it at least once!

Sorry if this has been posted already, but didn't see it in the list:
Marco Pierre White Steakhouse, Birmingham UK Link 25th Floor of The Cube There is also a decent bar attached to the restaurant and the outside area is nice for when the weather is good. There is a Hotel Indigo on the floor below, well worth a stay if you have some IHG reward points to spare. You don't need to be a hotel guest or be eating to use the bar. I've stayed in the hotel, had drinks in the bar and had breakfast in the restaurant the next day. All pretty good. The restaurant is rated by an acquaintance who is into his food. Some decent pictures on Trip advisor. |
