Best Method to Preserve Wine?

This thread hass opened my eyes to different ways of preserving wine. I'm going to try some of them (the small bottle/ Platypus approach sounds interesting; I'll also buy a can of winesave).

Wow - I've never heard of freezing wine. I'm not sure I'd want to do that with a bottle of fine wine. First, you'd presumably have to get it really cold to freeze the alcohol in it. And second, wouldn't you risk the bottle exploding when it defrosted? I've had incidents where I've left beer bottles in the freezer by mistake and the bottles have cracked when unfreezing. I think the risk would be the same with wine.

+1. Just annoying to defrost to drinking temp.

If one knows that he/she is going to finish the wine the following day, then the easiest is just to pour off half the bottle immediately upon opening into a clean, empty half bottle, and vacuvin or recork it, and put in the fridge. Minimal quality loss (sometimes even improving very young, closed wines).
