had a buddy a couple decades ago surprised me with one when he flew into the US from Germany, it was a delicious surprise and my reward for picking him up at the airport.

It's in Boston.

Just had one today.

Don't see what's so special.

I am well on my way to Silver Rib Status. I'm contemplating a Burger Run. Couple of quick turns I guess.

Ok, I broke down and went the the McD's by my house and had my first McRib since 1987. It was pretty darn good for fast food, but then again, I eat Spam.

To make a McRib, you toasted a bun, put onions and 2 pickles on the bun, and then took a pair of tongs and fished out a rib patty from the BBQ sauce. The key was getting just the right amount of sauce on the sandwich.

There was a good amount of sauce on mine; more than I was expecting, but not so much that the bun was sopping wet. I still was happy I got extra napkins. I have to ask; is the BBQ sauce the same as the McNugget dipping sauce?

No, it's completely different.

Well, this thread has made me break down and go to McDonald's for the first time in years. Quite enjoyed the McRib. I knew I would as I liked them a lot back in the day. Had an order of fries as well, not bad but nowhere near as good as some local places here in COS. Might go back today and get a couple of McRib's to eat at work. :p

Did the old McRibs always have onions and pickles? I don't seem to remember those extras being on there, but then again, it's been about 15 to 20 years since I'd had one.

I didn't care for it having onions and pickles, but I thought it was pretty tasty.

I seem to recall that initially when they were introduced, they did NOT have onions and pickles. But during a subsequent 're-issue', they WERE served with onions and pickes. And I guess it just stuck.

This thread makes me want to go get one right now, dammit! :D

Yes! The build of the sandwich hasn't changed since it was introduced.

Just had one and it is exactly as I remember it...You can (almost) always count on McDonalds for consistency :D

Had two McRibs at 11pm in Montgomery County, Maryland the night after the Sanity Rally.

They helped soak up all the beer still sloshing around in me guts.

Mmmmmmm... pig snouts...

McRib is at the McDonald's DTW airport. Had one on Friday night. :)

And they've made it to Nashville as of Monday. Yay.
