My Florida surburlet was developed by a German industrialist, and there's a little of that influence around- competition pools that are 25 meters long instead of 25 yards, a good set-up for volksmarching, the local Kiwanis club has an Octoberfest as its fundraiser every September, and a smallish biergarten & German restaurant over by the Subway and Winn-Dixie.

I've been wanting to visit Bohemian Hall in Queens, NY but haven't had a chance. The problem is like someone else wrote- who wants to drive to a beer garden! One of these days I'll take the train there from Brooklyn and go before or after a Mets game!
, good food (limited menu, not the same quality as the beers, but very edible), great atmosphere; I try to get there almost every time I'm in NYC.No need to drive there; the N train has a stop two blocks from it.

I am pleasantly surprised to see the interest in biergartens that actually serve authentic German fare. In the US, the German restaurant have been dying out for 20 years. Hopefully the Biergartens resurrect the cuisine/experience.

It has been awhile since I was last there, but I was not at all impressed with the food...this was at Cincy.
The beer however, which is of course the main reason to visit...was spot on.
I will try to visit again soon...just in the interests of seeing if things have changed much...
