Top Chef Season 7

Eric Ripert judging = I'm in!

Angelo looks strong, but seems like another cocky chef.

I'm not sorry they sent away the chef they did...pretty scary looking!

Is this show like another Hells Kitchen...?

Hell's kitchen is an amusement park. Top Chef actually has real chefs.

I agree on all accounts. The chef who got the axe reminded me of a male Carla. Tall, long face, buggy eyes, and odd outlook on life. It would have been fun to see him, I think.

This episode was dominated by Kenny and Angelo... definitely early ones to watch.

Is this show like Hell's Kitchen?... let's see... trying to come up with a FT analogy... If Hell's Kitchen is Delta Economy Class... Top Chef is Cathay First Class

Great analogy!^

Angelo is so cocky, I hope he lands in the bottom next week just to give him some humble pie.

Hell's Kitchen is a cooking school actually. They take people with some culinary background and try to put them into situations where they run different stations in a kitchen and even run the kitchen. For instance, they will have people who have never cooked on a line before. Putting that person in a situation where they are expected to keep up with that is setting them up for failure...and a lot of Gordon Ramsay screaming.

Top Chef gets people who have some accolades and get them to compete against one another.

The winner of the first elimination challenge has traditionally been the favorite to win the whole thing.

S1: Harold won the first challenge. He won the season
S2: Illan won the first challenge. He won the season (although an unpopular winner)
S3: Tre won the first challenge. Although a strong contender, Tre was eliminated in a tough restaurant-wars episode. Hung won the season, and was also featured as a tough competitor in the first episode.
S4: Stephanie won the first challenge and won the season.
S5: Stefan won the first challenge and was the heavy favorite to win the finale, but lost to Hosea.

S6: Kevin won the first challenge and lost in the finale to Michael.

The skills of the competitors in this season seem a step below Season 6. Should still be entertaining though.

Great show, but I can't get it

I have Direct TV, but I cannot get the Bravo Channel. Can I get topchef on the internet or netflix? IT's such a great show, much better than Iron chef american or chopped.

It's available using bittorrent on sites like eztv.it.

bravotv.com will have it a week after it airs, but there are lots of other places to find it before that. I usually find everything through yidio the day after.
