Arrow The Worst Cook On Telelvision...Rachel Ray

I cannot stand this woman. The food looks bland, not exactly healthy, her laugh just puts me over the top. Not to mention the use of "EVOO"

She also forgets people actually cut their vegetables its not all ready to go for them like she presents it.

Rachel Ray is terrible and I want to shove a bottle of EVOO down her throat.

However, Sandra Lee is worse

^Agreed

Sandra lee is thick as two planks as well. Queen of pre-made goods as if it takes a rocket scientist to read the back of the box.

Rachel and Sandra are like Dumb and Dumber!

And this would apply to every cooking show host, right?

On the contrary her show is called 30min meals. No other show makes the claim that in the time you watch the show meal will be made.

There was a blog entry (a few years ago) by Anthony Bourdain. I think he just smacked Rachel Ray with a semi and left whatever remained on the ground...

I would like to add Bobby Flay to the list. His arrogant / ego just takes so much awy from his cooking ability. No wonder he is so often beat on the Throwdown competitions!

While I do not care for Sandra Lee, you do have to wonder about someone who rethemes their entire house for every meal...

Yeah that's what I thought when I first saw presliced mushrooms in the produce section, who on earth would need to buy presliced mushrooms?

Apparently now it's outselling regular ones in some stores. Same with pre sliced carrots, pre cubed potatoes, pre cut lettuce, and even presliced apples. It's like product for people who don't have knives or something.

It's not something I understand, but I always see people putting the bags of pre cut stuff into their carts (sometimes called stir fry or some other name). I'm sure it's the quick cooking shows that started that craze, and everybody said if so and so uses presliced product, It's OK for me.

Rachel Ray: Complain all you want. Its like railing against the pounding surf. She only grows stronger and more powerful. Her ear-shattering tones louder and louder. We KNOW she cant cook. She shrewdly tells us so. Sowhat is she selling us? Really? Shes selling us satisfaction, the smug reassurance that mediocrity is quite enough. Shes a friendly, familiar face who appears regularly on our screens to tell us that Even your dumb, lazy ... can cook this! Wallowing in your own crapulence on your Cheeto-littered couch you watch her and think, HellI could do that. I aint gonnabut I couldif I wanted! Now wheres my damn jug a Diet Pepsi? Where the saintly Julia Child sought to raise expectations, to enlighten us, make us betterteach usand in fact, did, Rachael uses her strange and terrible powers to narcotize her public with her hypnotic mantra of Yummo and Evoo and Sammys. Youre doing just fine. You dont even have to chop an onionyou can buy it already chopped. Aspire to nothingJust sit there. Have another TriscuitSleep.sleep.

At this point, aside from Alton Brown most of the "cooks" on the Food Network pretty much stink. Thank god the local PBS affiliate shows cooking shows with actual cooks who know what their doing.

Sandra Lee is slightly more awful than Rachel Ray.

If it's any consolation to you guys, I work with a woman who grew up with Rachel Ray in upstate NY. According to this coworker, Ray is a loudmouthed, pompous boor of average intelligence. She treats everyone around her like inferiors, especially since she became famous.

Ray's recipes are disastrous. Yes, it's 30 minutes, but you can make good food in 30 minutes. How about learning from Jacque Pepin?
And I wouldn't even use the word "cook" in the same sentence as Sandra Lee.

I can't even begin to imagine what she's going to be like as the first lady of NY state next year. Andrew's going to come home to a themed cocktail every night.
