Shiner Ruby Redbird season is fast approaching as well. In fact, summer may hit the Panhandle before the Redbird shows up. So, I'll make do with the Lineys until it does.

Somehow a 6-pack of Molson ended up in my fridge last night. It's gone now.

Excellent recommendation. The Gingerman is even better. 11 E. 36th St., between 5th and Madison. Three Monkeys would be my third choice, followed by Blind Tiger and Pony Bar.

Any good advice on local NYC beers (and beer-bars)?
I am not the only one who likes the place. http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/31095/ Other recommendations: If you are in the neighborhood (Lower East Side), 'Top Hops'. is good. It is a bottle shop with a good draft beer selection and a small bar with a few tables and chairs. For a fee, you can pick any bottle in the place, so the selection can not be beat. 'New Beer Distributors' a store, is a couple blocks away and is worth visiting. 'Good Beer', another bottle shop is fairly close (Easy Village). I never stay but several times have purchased a bottle and walked down the street drinking it: in this neighborhood, I fit right in. |

Just got back from the annual trip to Belgium. Nothing too spectacular this time.
