How do you stop annoying 'upgrade' phone calls ??

How do you stop annoying 'upgrade' phone calls ??

Hi,

NW Flyer here. Booked a PHX-JFK trip thru nwa.com, but the flight is the DL non-stop. For the past 3 days, I keep getting calls to my cell phone...

- 2 have left voice mails ... "this is about your upgrade on Sep3" then go on saying how great DL is without saying anything about the upgrade
- half of them, when I answer, I just hear a musical tone. Kinda sounds like a fax dialed me by mistake.
- today I got another voice mail and another 'fax' call. But the 'fax' call, just as I was about to hang up, went into the "this is about your upgrade..." routine.

So... my mystery 'fax' calls are also my annoying "we want to tell you nothing about your upgrade" calls. That makes 6 calls total.

On NW ... in the "My NWA Info" ....
my 'upgrade notifications' are set to email only. NW has always respected my selection.
my phone listed is my work phone, not my cell phone.
In the WorldPerks "Manage My Acct" is the only place I see my cell phone on file.

On DL ... I've had an in-active SkyMiles # from way back, never used, but now linked to my NW#
my profile is blank.

I keep my cell number private. If I'm in a meeting and it rings, it tells me this is an important call.
- I don't know how DL has this number
- I've specifically noted to NW that I don't want calls for "upgrade notification"
- I've never selected the option on DL saying I do want phone calls for "upgrades"
- I can't find anywhere on NW/DL where I can stop this other than where I've already said not to do it.
- wether or not if I want them, the calls are useless and only serve to tell me how great DL is (after just a few months, I don't exactly agree with them).

1) Anybody know how I can stop this ? As simple as it is, I find it extremely irritating
2) How do I classify this complaint as I escalate it...
- Another 'best in class' Deltanization .. ignore our customers preferences from nwa.com and force feed them DL marketing spin
- Another 'best in class' benefit derived from the decision to use limited DL IT versus full featured NW IT ??

I don't know what I did, but they stopped.
Maybe something in the preferences on your profile on line ?

Side note but don't know if it is related. I have a flight on Saturday morning and was upgrade at the window or a little bit earlier (Early Monday morning) and got an e-mail. Early Wednesday morning, I received the same e-mail telling me I was upgraded. Don't know why DL is sending multiple notices.

Programs: Now just a lowly DL PM/1MM. This industry needs some competition. It's just not enjoyable anymore.

I, on the other hand, haven't received an upgrade email from DL for the last two months or so. Used to get them like clockwork. Haven't changed anything in my profile.

At least I am still getting the upgrades. I just have to check my itin online more often. Go figure.....

I haven't been getting the emails either. Still getting upgrades, but no notification at all.

I've received 3 calls about the same DL flight. I appreciate the upgrade, but not the calls (nwa.com was set to email me).

Yes, I checked, it is on your profile on-line: "contact me". You can choose email, phone call, text.

Yeah, I'm getting multiple emails for the same upgrade lately.

sorry that only works for DL Elites....DL's advanced computer system is ignoring our (NW Elites) profiles....I've checked mine, says to email me yet the calls keep coming....I've called DL and they've said they dont know how to stop them other than removing our telephone numbers from our profiles, anything already booked before you remove your number in the profile will have to be manually edited to remove the telephone number by an agent....there's already been a few threads on this over in the NWA forums.....dont get me wrong, I'm glad they are slowly integrating their systems but perhaps they should think things through before they impliment them (I can see an FCC fine possibly coming over this, pax are on a DNC list yet DL calls...hmm)

Wishful thinking, the rules exempt companies that have a current (and even pre-existing for something like 18 months) business relationship with a consumer.

I am in the same boat, I'm a NW elite, and I am getting notifications from both companies (NW by email, DL by phone). I just deleted the phone number in my linked Skymiles account for the time being. Hopefully that will work.
