No changes yet for my FLL-ATL-MKE trip in December.
Was departing at 1:53pm, now it departs at 1:54! Not sure if I can handle arriving a whole minute later than originally scheduled. Can I get miles to compensate?? Seriously, though. Can't figure it out. The flight number changed, but the equipment did not. Arrival time is also a minute later. *shurg* |

Well, you can always NOT CALL. I know it's crazy, but if the the flights are several months away, you can just wait a few months and then call and have DL clean it up all at once. You don't HAVE to call every week.

Seems like a lot of flight numbers are changing.........Hard to track history thru Flightaware when they keep doing that

Seems it is hard to keep track of for Delta too. I was checking how many MQMs I was getting and it showed 0 for the new flight number. I am sure it will get sorted out by December, but I will keep my boarding pass on that one, just in case.

I had a schedule change for a December 5 award ticket in F going JAN-ATL-SFO-HNL, with the last leg on a NW 757. I was going to have 35 minutes in ATL to catch the flight to SFO. I called SMS and was told "it's a legal connection" but I flatly (but nicely) refused to accept it. The rep worked some magic and got me on DL nonstop ATL-HNL, a flight that was not available when I booked the award several months ago. I didn't suggest it, but I knew I could have caught an earlier JAN-ATL flight that would have given me more time for the connection in ATL, but would have resulted in a much longer travel day. Now, with no connection in SFO, we get to HNL several hours earlier than the original itinerary.
Now, if they just won't change things on me between now and December! |

I also had a change for a flight in Dec.
Flight # was the only change. No times or equipment changes. Now what is gained by that? Somebody at Delta has too much time on their hands and could be doing something more constructive in my mind. But what do I know? |

Could be a different Delta Connection carrier. Or just another way to hide the on-time stats.

I'm flying RT non-stop CVG-LAS (11/22-29) and seating chart still shows 69-70 seats remaining on each leg (737 both ways). So far they haven't changed the equipment.
Do LAS flights fill up at the last minute? This is Thanksgiving week, flying Sat-Sat. |
I've had a number of my itineraries with dangerous changes... ie my first flight arriving later than the connection departs. I feel the need to monitor my itineraries to catch these things because Delta doesn't....
I'm always very nice to them and Delta generally will change my flights how I ask them to (it's a good idea to look at the schedule and figure out what flights you want before calling!) I also have had a number of the seemingly pointless changes (ie flight #'s or the flight times changing by a minute or two). Does anyone know, if these aren't "cleaned up" right away, can someone else take the seat I've reserved (assuming it's the same aircraft?) |

Only RJs for OKC in January
I sure hope this is not a final decision for DL because it might finally move me over to AA, but it looks like DL is only using RJs for OKC in January. We used to have an AM MD88 to ATL and the same equipment back to OKC in the evening. (As I have next month when I going to HEL via AMS).
I was just doing my weekly check of schedules and have a return January flight (on my BD no less) that starts in NCL and goes to AMS and after almost 5 hours now I am stuck with an RJ100 to get home. I accepted that on the outbound because of the layover difference of the original schedule of the MD88 and that I am more fresh at the start of an itinerary. Since I can't tolerate such a small RJ at the end of an international flight - even though it is only Europe and not JNB, et al - then I need to do the AA challenge so I can get mainline jets to DFW then fly anywhere in the world. Problem us that my upgrade points for M fares will not transfer - and I finally got back to GM - so the transition is going to be messy. And getting BE for me is not just pleasure, but a medical necessity. If I call back to DL and ask to separate NCL to AMS then do AMS-ATL-OKC in one day or layover in ATL, will DL allow that or was my only change when I called moments ago and while in shock couldn't sort out the best alternative? |
