First to be delivered in February 2008 and followed by the second in March.

It is my understanding that Delta will be getting 6-8 more 772LR's between 1st Quarter 2008 - 3rd Quarter 2009

Delta's first 777-200LR will be registered N701DN with a ship number of 7101. The 777LR fleet will be the 7100 series.

Yes, that's correct! DL will received first 772LR is coming around Feb 2008 and another one is coming in March 2008, too. DL will accepted delivered new 772LR come online shortly. DL will deployed for JFK-BOM around end of March 2008 for being replaced 772ER for PVG service. I can't confide which specific information from DL will deliverable first newest 772LR. It is good possibility from DL will wait for while pilots is during in training on 772LR.

Normally new planes are used domestically for a month before the long runs over the Atlantic or Pacific. So the LR may show up ATL-LAX or xxxxx before the long hauls.

NOPE, They usually want to get some hours on the plane to get the bugs out and get a bunch of pilots and FA's on the real thing. So look for some domestic's. Just my view. We will see what happens.

Do we know what route the first 777LRs will be on? PVG? For an $18,000 J seat, it better be lie-flat!

They will be, the new two will be the first to have the lie flat seats, I plan on going as soon as I can on them and testing out the new beds, They better be better than the lousy new BizE seats they have now! I can't sleep in them at all.

I'm in BE ATL-PVG in July on a 777 and seating is 2-2-2. That's not lie flat, correct?

are there 50 seats in BizE or 46? That will tell you if it is or not.

Regardless of training-with-the-real-thing, DL would rather have that plane in the air rather than sitting at the gate. That is the main reason that DL 152/189 (LAX-ATL) and DL 16/17 (JFK-ATL) exist...not to mention the nice PR they get from talking up the airplane at the gate. Everytime I've flown 152 or 189 (about 6 times or so now), the pilot comes out to the counter, gets on the mic, and chats about the plane. On the one time the pilot didn't, we got the spiel on-board before pushing back.
