What does "F0" after my Skymiles number mean?

My RTW ticket shows "SKYMILES F0" instead of the usual "SKYMILES GM". What does this mean?

Thanks,
A.

It means you've been demoted from Gold Medallion = GM to Silver Medallion = FO.

= Now that is seriously bizarre ... as I made PM this year. I wonder why this happened. It doesnt matter in some ways as its a all J itin, but still!

Did you buy the ticket when you were a FO? That might be the cause of it...

I was going to say that your PM status would get you into the SkyTeam lounges so you should care, but if you are traveling in J the point is moot. It might be important during irregular opps since you are now SkyTeam elite+. You might get a bump (however unlikely) to F on KE or AF.

= If AF ever bumped me on a DL award ticket (or in general did anything nice for non FB members), I would be very impressed . Ya, I am going to look on changing this as during irregular ops, ST+ is definitely helpful.

= No. I was GM last year and then made PM this year. I was SM 2 years ago.

Question: why is it called F0 and not SM?

To eliminate confusion...

FO: Flying Orchid = Silver Medallion
SM: SkyMiles

I'm afraid you failed to "eliminate confusion." Did you actually read the thread that you linked???

FO is indeed the designation for Silver Medallion customers. While there was, at one time, a Flying Orchid program, that is not what "FO" in this context stands for.

FO, with regard to Silver Medallion, stands for "Flys Often" and was created back when the first elite level, called simply "Medallion Level," was established.

I stand corrected... I still have "Flying Orchid" in my head. Thanks.

Exactly correct. Funny how long this has lasted!

Wow. I did not know that my thread would teach me so much history about DL's Skymiles program. Now the other big question ... why the hell am I F0 and not PM ?

I beg to differ. AF has op-up'ed Mrs. Gargoyle and myself 3 or 4 times TATL based on our DL status; that's something DL has never done for us.

Here's why the OP should care whether he's FO or GM/PM on an all-J itinerary: GMs and PMs earn a 100% Skymiles bonus on flown miles, while FOs earn only a 25% bonus.

I thought the OP was on a DL award ticket.
