BOM-CDG Upgrade Waitlist Revisited
Sorry for the third post on a common theme, but I need some encouragement from the BOM route experts.
As I mentioned in an earlier post, my daughter and I are waitlisted for upgrades for the BOM-CDG sector on March 23. According to the seat map, there are 30 unassigned BE seats.
Looking at all the dates from January 31 to March 23, there are at least 6 and sometimes as many as 36 unassigned BE seats on every date.
So what are my chances and when should I expect the upgrades to clear, based on people's real-life experiences on this sector? I would hate to pay $1,800 each for the M fare and then be stuck in the back for the 10-hour segment. The L fare is about $1,000.

Pretty good chance that it will clear. You should however visit your nearest local CTO and see what they can do for you

akhullar, you are assuming that DL wants to be fair about releasing upgrades for international routes. Based on the experiences of many on the board, this usually does not happen.</font>

akhullar, the CTO was not able to help (and I got a great, helpful TA with 25 years of DL experience who spent 40 minutes trying to accommodate me). But she said she couldn't imagine the upgrade not clearing with 30 seats open as of today. You seem to share that view. So I'm going to take a chance and purchase the tickets. Thanks!
Once again, though, you've got to love those front-line DL people!
