Bravo Delta! Make a return to the airline you once were and focus on service. This is a positive step, but should not be the only one you take.. ^

It's nice to see service upgraded and not enhanced.

It is impressive what just a few things can do to do better than the competition.

A big step in the right direction. It already sounds like this is the best Y among US carriers internationally. Now, if they can only increase seat pitch and make it a standard 33" or 34" then it would be even better than UA's E+.

Sounds exactly like the service that AF has had in their TATL flights for years. And I mean exactly.

DL is really striving to make the in-flight experience pleasant -- domestically, too. I really wish NW would wake up & notice.

NW is currently the only US-based carrier to still have free booze in coach across the pond. They also have better IFE on their Airbuses than DL. Right now NW has a far superior trans-Atlantic coach product to DL.

I agree, it ain't much but in contrast to all of the other enhancements; it is a giant leap forward. Maybe there is hope after all.

That free booze will be gone the first chance they have (already gone on Asian routes) and snacks are gone domestically. NW cuts everything they can, and never restores anything.

The A330's do have good IFE. The DC-10's don't, and they are planning to fly 757's (sucky IFE) to Europe as well. However, I rarely use IFE. It's the food & drinks that get my attention.

As the two airlines have gone through C-11 in the last year, a very different (and positive) attitude seems to be evolving in DL compared with NW.

The press release says "a free drink or cocktail, including Mojito, etc with the meal service".

So, for the rest of a 14 hours ATL-NRT flight I'll have to pay for drinks?

If true, I'd say it will pay off to be super nice to the FA's..... this will be a nightmare to track every single authorized dispensation of alcohol otherwise if they don't give FA's some leeway. Or did I read this wrong?
