I'm sure that you are all getting sick of this topic. The original flight was direct from Rome to Atlanta. It was diverted to Gatwick for mechanical problems. Plane was switched and went to JFK with same crew. Crew was switched out at JFK and then went on to Atlanta. One remedy might be to provide everyone on the plane a free 5 minute phone card in order to call relatives waiting back home. We never got off the plane except to change and then closely supervised as we walked off the plane at Gatwick to get to new plane.

Anyway, I will write a letter. Not sure where to send letter. I am disappointed in Delta.

Does anyone know where I can get an autographed Bob Gibson baseball? I think he pitched for the SL Cardinals. (Boy was that a switch in topics). Thank you all for your replies.

Thanks for the telephone numbers. I think I would be more articulate with a letter. I will call and ask for address. Now do I owe you five dollars or five Delta Skymiles?

You owe me 5 favors. LOL Good Luck. Her assistants are really nice, they will probably give you the FAX number to send them a report. But becareful, when you write a letter and they respond via letter, it may appear on your Skymiles Profile, as a complainer. Thats why I like verbal talks and settlements with DELTA.

I would say you did as best as could be expected. DL probably cancelled another flight to get you an airplane. Also they probably don't have any relief crews in LGW (They would need 777, 767 and M11 to cover, plus most pilots wouldn't call in sick for a trip home unless they were deathly ill). As far as the cabin service, that's just lazy. They had plenty of time from the time you left LGW to properly cater the aircraft for a 2 hr JFK-ATL, but it's non-routine and they just didn't bother.

Get this. I just did a PHX-Tokyo-Seoul Business Elite upgrade. On the return from Seoul to Tokyo, Delta routed and ticketed me and my 5 brothers on Northwest. Upon check-in, Norhtwest had NO reservation-none of us-ZILCH, NADA!, but we had hard tickets! We eventually made it to Tokyo to meet the Delta flight but on Korean Air (luckily a partner). I wrote a letter! Keep you posted.
