I have NEVER received a call like that, and I hope I never do. I would probably leave Delta forever (and sell my stock, too, which is probably overdue, anyway). That inquiry goes well beyond outrageous! Where's Johnnie Cochrane when we need him?

I'm so glad I don't fly DL. Never have and I guess never will. I wonder if the RPU post plain clothes agents on its flights to eavesdrop on flyertalk members.

Perhaps we need a top 10 list of things to tell the airlines when they question you about your "irregular" flight routings.

#10 - I'm having an affair with someone in XXXXX (insert city 1), but I told my spouse I was on business in YYYYY (insert city 2).

And when they ask why your layover is only 25 minutes in XXXXXXX, you can tell them "that's all the time I need."

#6 -- The CRC in place XXX does not have my favourite beer. So I would like to grab one in YYY on my way to ZZZ.

#5. I'm actually spending the weekend in ZZZ, but I'm flying CO there since I can upgrade even the lowest fares.

2. I am auditioning an escort service in one of the Laptop Lanes and they have a free booth open in city AAA on my way to BBB. I only need 10 minutes in a private booth.

#1 (IMHO): Because it's still a free country. If I pay the applicable fare, I will make as many stops as I d**n well please for whatever reasons suit me. And if you don't like it, you can stick my Medallion card up your corporate a**.

I have posted a thread on the "Only Randy Petersen" board concerning this topic.
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum97/HTML/000368.html

Let's get Randy's take on this subject.

By the way, special mention should be given to the posters on this thread for their sense of humor and the sarcasm that resulted in such a great "top 10" list.
