Some airports just suck, and that's fine - but at least most of the time there will be a Crown Room or a partner lounge or a food court or somewhere halfway-decent to while away an hour waiting for a flight.

But the Anchorage North Terminal is just downright lame. No Crown Room, not even an Alaska Airlines Board Room - no restaurant, only a bar... and I got CARDED! Just for sitting down at a table by the TV! I wasn't about to order a drink, as there was no way in hell I was going to pay for one, but the Angry Alaskan Bar-Wench™ behind the counter pointed to the "You Must Be 21 To Sit In These Premises" sign and made me leave . I guess families aren't allowed to watch TV either?

I attempt to go to the bathroom - but the door is locked! Turns out you have to go all the way down to the other end of the terminal to use the one bathroom they leave open. Seeing as how the flights leave at 12:55am, 2:30am, and 9:00am, I wonder when (if ever) the convenient bathrooms are unlocked . I was on the 12:55.

I looked around the tiny souvenir stand, then resigned to sitting and watching a woman pick popcorn out of her teeth for an hour. Yeah, that's the highlight of my day for sure .

So - no lounge, no restaurant, no TV, no planespotting, and nowhere to walk around. Anchorage is my vote... what are your votes for the lamest Delta terminal?

Yea, I'd agree ANC is pretty awful. Maybe they will move into the nice main terminal with NW and AS now that they are partners. Would be nice. I also heard that they used to have a CRC??

No argument from me. I can't think of anything worse than ANC. Inside security, MLB is nothing to write home about but I will give them the benefit of the doubt as they were remodeling the last time I was there. Still, ANC is worse.

Way too easy - PHL Terminal E. The only redeeming feature is a CRC. BUT, it's outside security, and you have to stand in line with SouthWorst amateurs to clear security.

Nothing beats the Finnair gates at JFK. They are part of the AA terminal. There are two gates and the restrooms are OUTSIDE OF SECURITY. Stupidest thing I've ever seen.

Delta don't have nothing like that nowhere.

Well, there are a few AA gates at Terminal B in BOS that have their own separate security checkpoint but no restrooms or club past the one checkpoint!
But DL's new Terminal A at BOS is pretty good-although to get to the food court you have to walk down the tunnel a good ways.
I haven't been to an airport that's just unbearable yet...

I guess this one gets my vote as well.
For the sheer zoo-like quality and occasional periods of mass confusion, it’d be hard to beat.
But they do have good amenities in the general area, i.e. restaurants, bars and shopping.

Not having jetways is great. Makes me feel like the Beatles every time I get off the plane.

How can you not love outdoor baggage carousels that are roughly the size of an outdoor above-ground pool?

How can you not love having 10 second taxi times upon landing?

How can you not love the temporary "Bob Hope Airport" banner tacked the old control tower?

Gee, so many to chose from... But I have to agree that PHL E is probably the worst. Now you can at least avoid the majority of the WN amateurs, but the CRC is small, crowded and outside of security.

In all fairness, the question was "mainline terminal". There's a lot of contenders if regional only terminals are included. The Comair terminal at CVG is not my favorite place to be, but as Cholula pointed out, there are plenty of amenities/activities and the larger concourses A & B (with CRC's) are easily reached without security hassles. For my money, it beats the D concourse at ATL.
