LAX-SYD
Today, I heard NW/DL is preparing LAX-SYD operation this summer
I don't have any idea which airline will operate this route under.
As far as I know, two possible candidates are only DL's 777 or NW's 747.
Finally, all 3 major alliance is operating direct flights to Sydney out of LAX.

It will be the new business class suites -- should be very nice.
Has anyone booked anything on these new flights with world perk miles? Haven't seen any confirmation of non-sky mile bookings.

Slightly OT here, but I'm REALLY wanting to be on the 1st flight, but am truly afraid of being mired in an Economy seat for that long.
My partner is PM - would there be any fare class restrictions on him upgrading (with miles) from Y to J? I'm SM this year - if I'm the same PNR with him, would I have any fare class restrictions as well?
NEVER MIND guys - I got confused. I'll post this in the DL forum.

Delta Going down under mate?
I was in the Crown room in BOS yesterday. It was the first day NWA was in Terminal A. The Delta rep says they will be starting service to Australia this summer. Anyone else hear this or was she playing an april fools trick on me?

Earn 15.000 WP bonus miles with Delta LAX-SYD
I'm about to book qualifying flights with Delta from LAX to SYD in July and am wondering about the upcoming death of WorldPerks.
I've read thru the FT WP posts that possibly in the middle of May WP earning might cease to exist ..... please correct me if I'm wrong here !
My question is this: will the above mentioned promotion still be honored in July ?
Cannot seem to find a Skymiles promotion for these flights !

Wirelessly posted (FlyerTalk.com/wap is fun : BlackBerry9530/4.7.0.114 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/105)
The worldperks integration timeline indicates that the new skymiles program will launch jan 1. You have nothing to worry about for now.

LAX - SYD in October
Well, it is looking like I am probably going to Sydney in October. Did a quick check on the DL site and there is one flight per day on the new configuration 777. Now, as this is a 15 hour flight, upgrading will be a requirement! My company is willing to pay for an M fare, but not for an I or J fare. I've got PMUs aplenty.
My question / problem: Using expertflyer and searching for "Z" inverntory I cannot seem to find any flights with availability that will allow the use of the PMUs. Am I missing something, perhaps a different code, or has DL closed out any upgrade chance for a platinum using a PMU?

If it says 0, it means 0. However I did a few days of searching in October and did find some days with Z, both on the international and domestic portions. You can always wait list. Bad timing I guess?
