After all, we are supposed to be discussing planes, not trains. I do have one question, in all seriousness: when a thread is locked, I noticed that sometimes the icon is a lock over a yellow folder, and sometimes the icon is a lock is over an orange folder. Is there a difference between the two icons and, if so, what? |
I think that the different colored locked threads parallel the different colored unlocked threads: The ones with new postings since you last entered FT are yellow; older ones are blue. Something similar for locked (but I can't recall which is which).

I think this thread should now serve as a reminder of what needs to be moderated. Is there anything aside from flying Delta that hasn't been discussed in this thread? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

All of a sudden, I am in the mood for Vegemite for some unknown reason.
Yes, ozstamps, I do have it here, as I brought it back from the Ayer's Rock (Uluru) region. And yes, I do like it, especially on French bread. However, I would advise eating it in moderation. Just trying to stick to the topic instead of spreading to other topics. Wait, this has to have something to do with Delta, according to FrequencyFlyer, so.... It is a shame Delta does not fly to Australia nor has a partner that conveniently flies to Australia directly from the United States. |

Not without stopping along the way (or flying empty!).

Anyone care to continue the tipping discussion without trekking over to OMNI?
The poster said in his title that it was off topic, which I thought was fair enough. And also, he did make a parallel to tipping DL FAs. |
Rsssvp and others, we have gone for several years without moderators to keep the board in line, very successfully in the opinions of most. There are occ duplicate threads, but usually one lives and one dies. There are folks who post their US Air issues here, but so what? It is more dangerous to have a small group deciding what is the best for all, even if they do it in good faith and even if they act in concert. And we thank you for all taking the group's collective feelings, although by no means unamimous, into account.

RobertS975, are you Taunton our poor moderators again???

To coin a phrase, I know I am going to eventually pay for this... |
Originally posted by RobertS975: There are folks who post their US Air issues here, but so what? FWIW, first, I did throw in a reference to DL in my original question. Second, I wanted input from the people that I interact with daily here on the DL board -- my FT "friends", if you will -- whose opinions I value. Third, although the case itself was airline-specific, the deeper question was more general; namely, what was the CSR's responsibility for making me aware of the rules when I first called before the scheduled departure time? Fourth, as proof of your "survival of the fittest" theory (which I agree with, BTW), the thread has all but died out. Fifth and last, I have no objection to a moderator closing the thread; then I can finally feel that I have earned my FT "stripes"! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif ------------------ Vasant [Edited for UBB] [This message has been edited by vasantn (edited 02-19-2003).] |
