Pre-select meal error for D1

When I clicked on the link in the email from Delta, I got an error message with the following info;……….Rest assured — you can still select your entrée preference up to 24 hours before your departure using the link in your email or on the Fly Delta app. I went to the app and don’t see anything that would take me to meals and selection.

Have you encountered this error message? Did you use the app to select?

Try selecting through the app.

Try to look at the menu first then call. Phone agents aren't likely to give much detail about the choices beyond "chicken or fish."

DL's tech really does not like it when there are multiple people and multiple meal flights in a pnr. I've never had a problem when traveling by myself or when I only had one leg with a meal. I also think it works when you both want the same meal, if two people want something different it melts DL's IT brain.

They recently screwed up my order LAX-AKL despite it looking like it worked. On the return flight, it glitched out and would let me select a meal for myself but not my wife. I actually used the chat function and a nice agent fixed it (it took 30 minutes!) and everything was correct onboard. We ordered the same thing from AKL but different meals from LAX-ATL so I think that was the issue.

I also think there is some clandestine health bot trying to ensure I never get Shake Shack!

Thanks for the suggestions. I looked up the choices and then contacted a Chat agent. We shall see if they got it right.

Always use pnr.sh to verify that your intended meal selection appears in the SSR sections and corresponds to the meal codes found on https://cloud.o.delta.com/fltInfo

I've never tried this before. When does this information become available? I'm looking up a D1 flight in December, and the results returned are garbage/gobbledygook. (If I search the same flight for this coming Saturday, I see the pre-select meal options.) Note that I can't even search the December flight on menu.delta.

In my experience, the next month usually gets loaded when the pre-select window get closer to the first few days of the next month (e.g 7 days prior to the 1st, etc.), so I would expect most/all December menus to be available on that site next week sometime. Right now they seem to be viewable through 12/2

Thank you Ms Gaga Pilot for the instructions. Got all the way to PNR and don’t see a field (in table form) for SSR! Any ideas?

Usually around 5-7 days prior to the 1st of the month is when I see the next month’s meals viewable. Then, once I am eligible to select via the app or email, I then see my corresponding selection appear on pnr.sh

Scroll down until you see “Passenger Details” and then look under each passenger name you should see “Filtered SSRs.” From there you will see various codes depending on your reservation (anything from contact info, to wheelchair requests, pet in cabin notes, to finally meal requests). Check that the meal code corresponds to what you ordered such as PBML = beef meal, PFML = seafood meal, etc all found on the link above that shows meals for each flight within about a month out.
