Had some spare time so decided to try out the bus option from E to A.
Waited 20 minutes before giving up on it and starting to walk. 19 minutes later I was passing the shuttle drop-off point in the A tunnel, and 2 minutes later I was in the Satellite Sky Club. This included a pit stop and printing a paper BP at a kiosk. CLEAR/PreCheck with two people in front of me. Walking is definitely the way to go if you're mobile and don't want the uncertainty of the shuttle keeping to time. |

All told, about 30 minutes door to door (or Sky Club). Walking would have likely been faster, but can't beat the airfield views.

Hi Guys
the gods of the Consultancy business send me to JFK via BOS tomorrow (and not PHX as planned) with a 4:55hrs connection arriving at 12pm from LHR with a 5pm flight to JFK. I do understand that I will be arriving in E and depart from A. My plan is to re-check at E, walk to A, and visit the Satellite sky club (my gate should be A9 as it stands but I believe the satellite club is better). Sounds like a plan? - I do hope I'll be able to access the club with my Platinum (I believe tomorrow is maybe not the busiest travel day - I hope). D |

D Saturday will definitely be quieter than Sunday (though probably not as quiet as today). The Satellite club is indeed better but the walk through the tunnel is only 5 minutes or so...well worth the backtrack in my opinion. The JFK and other short haul flights, especially RJs, tend to be in the main terminal and not the Satellite. Do note that if it's indeed a "connection" (all on one ticket) you should have no problem accessing the SC with your Amex Platinum but if they are separate tickets, the automated entry kiosks may or may not pick that up at first and instead apply the 3 hours in advance of departure rule for entry. An agent should be able to sort it for you though. Enjoy...and may the Gods of the Consultancy business look fondly on you this week ahead. |

One thought from me, you are more than likely going to be able to get on the earlier flight to jfk timewise, the club near a 9 has by far the consistently most helpful agents, I would suggest you try to get on the earlier flight, the weather has been brutal lately, nothing like summer storms to cause total travel misery on the east coast,

They’re arriving from LHR, so there’s a lot of important detail we’re missing. |

Lots of “it depends” here. If this is a middle segment on an international itinerary, then no… they can’t per the rules. Same caveats on ticket type, effect of status, etc.
They’re arriving from LHR, so there’s a lot of important detail we’re missing. Trip is LHR-BOS-JFK (had to save some project budget) in Comfort. I not really bothered for having an earlier flight and I am one of those who can spend several hours in a SkyClub... Re/ weather, I've seen there are thunderstorms in the forecast for Tuesday so I changed my return via BOS to the last direct flight from JFK to LHR on Monday, which is probably safer (I have more European trips lined up next week which I can't miss). Thanks for all the advice to all who have replied! |

Good afternoon from Logan!
Passing through Logan Terminal A and E today. It seems like construction will start soon on the A to B airside connector. I was talking to some Delta staff about it, and they mentioned it’s moving forward. Decided to check the Massport bid website afterwards and they did just close the RFQ for construction services for the airside connector. I expect it will take some time to award and for construction to begin, but it’s progress. It will be a hell of a walk to Terminal E, but sometimes it’s nice to get your steps in vs the shuttle. Separately, it seems like the Air France lounge will be finished with its remodel any week now. Supposedly reopening this month. Let’s hope it’s substantially better. https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...086aae466.jpeg |
I wouldn't hold my breath regarding the AF lounge getting meaningfully better. Theres only so much they can do with that space in the basement, and with it only being closed for ~5 months it obviously wasn't a full gutting, renovation and expansion like it needed. Probably just got fresh paint/carpet and chairs and maybe a better bar/buffet area.

Wow, I have been looking forward to this for years! Do you have any links for the RFQ? I love walking logan. Just being able to go to terminal B/C for alternative lounges from Delta would be really useful.

I wonder how much more dl will use e for domestic flights. I come in and out a lot very early in the morning, 5 to 7, and just the few flights using E now have made a big difference in alleyway congestion and gate availability at A. have not had a domestic flight out of E yet but have come in on a red eye a few times, nice not to sit waiting for a gate, there are very few international flights early in the morning so using capacity for landing redeyes at e makes sense,

does the airside shuttle go all the way around or is there a tunnel or other passage that shortcuts from A directly to E without going the "long way" around B and C?
