I don't judge people on their mistakes, I judge them on how they overcome them. I'm not pleased with Bastian, Samant or Narayanan but the next couple of weeks will determine if I'm going to light the torches or not.

Ed (or Ed's comms people with Ed's approval) continuing to blame this on CrowdStrike is insulting and unacceptable. He has to go.

What I'm waiting for is an honest e-mail from EB saying:

(A) We screwed up
(B) Here is what we are doing long term to try and avoid this happening again (I understand they can't say "to make sure this doesn't happen again" because... you never know)
(C) Here is what we are doing in the short term to win back customers

What? Delta only charges $1000!

so, fly Delta!

Delta can’t fly right now .

oh! When I can’t fly, I also charge $1000….

this thread has inspired me to introduce legislation that all airline executive compensation should be in SkyPeso with a 7 year vesting period.

RC

You're kidding, right? After the Southwest crew scheduling snafu, no other airline should have taken notice and made sure they had a back up system in place?

Wow, talk about tone deaf...that's right up there with Scott Kirby flying private while UA had system issues.

I am curious about what flight he took to make it to Paris and where from.

A reddit post mentioned a FA mentioning having Ed on her flight.

He did just post on the delta news hub but it is your typical saying a lot but not saying anything at all kind of post.

Here is Ed’s latest LinkedIn Post from this morning. Lots of yes-man in the comments praising Ed’s “leadership.”

I think a proper remedy would be to break DL up and create a new carrier that would resemble an updated NW and YX.

The government never should have allowed the big 6 to merge. AA, UA, and DL have become to big and have to much market share with little difference between them. We have seen the chaos CEOs like Ed has caused since Americans now have little choice. Hopefully we will see Ed replaced with better leadership. We also need to see the DOT fine CEOs directly or have the ability to limit their golden parachutes when they contribute to the problems we have seen at Delta.

Ed is not a fan of Pete. Ed thought he was going to be the transportation secretery under Biden so he was not happy to be passed up by Pete.

That's a good point. Like the big banks, UA, AA and DL are now "too big to fail"-- having just one of the three disrupted like the past few days has a huge impact on the country's transportation infrastructure.

Confirmed Ed went to France.

I'm sure he'll have a nice vacation with cocktail parties, receptions and hang with other big name celebs and CEOs and won't talk about his company's 5+ day complete operational meltdown.

He must think its all under control and wasn't a big issue... his crack leadership team and CIO have it handled!

DrMilano Jul 24, 2024 9:48 am

Ed was onboard
DL 84 last night.

Does DL have a flight from CDG to PBI when the board fires Ed during his Olympic parties?
