By popular demand: Delta adds second eclipse path-of-totality flight | Delta News Hub They just pushed back departure time of DL1010 by 45 minutes and put an A321 on it for one day only (was originally an A319). This is not actually an additional flight. https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...9fcd65f101.png Flight only has 4 seats left in F, and only Y/B bucket availability in coach. B fares on route are $739. Ouch! https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...1739e5a3c9.png |

By popular demand: Delta adds second eclipse path-of-totality flight | Delta News Hub Surprised we haven't heard JSX announce eclipse charter flights, it seems pretty well suited with their 1-1 configuration where every seat is at a window. Yes, there might be some clamoring to be on the side the eclipse is currently on, but certainly way better than a 3-3 aircraft. Plus decent sized windows on the EMB145. |
I wonder how many people will want to have their shades down so that they can take a snooze :D

DFW airport is in the path of totality. It's not 99%.
Of course, the weather is pretty iffy everywhere for it so mobility is the key. We are on the Discovery Princess. |
I may be a sucker, but I booked a window seat on this second flight. On April 9 I will be here either gloating or weeping! :) I saw the eclipse a few years ago through a thin layer of clouds near Kansas City, so I’m not blowing my only chance at least….And I booked the flight with Skypesos, so arguably I’m not giving up anything of value! LOL

By the power invested in me as a FlyerTalk member with a couple hundred post, I proudly proclaim you as the official photographer for us on the Eclipse Flight!
I hope our official photographer enjoys the flight and also enjoys sharing the pictures and experience with us. OTOH, I hope DL doesn't try any unexplained seat changes on this flight. |

Article on Forbes which mentions what most of you all have said.

Forbes is unreliable clickbait trash.
“the opinions of contributors are their own” So I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt on his article and believe it to be reasonably well informed. |

I flew to Nebraska to see the eclipse in 2017, but it was cloudy that day. :(
This time, because the BF is in New England, I'll be heading out to base out of Portland, Maine, and we will do our best to drive to clear skies for an afternoon eclipse. |
